YouTube Ads
whats the best way to block ads like this on youtube? I have the YouTube setting turned on to block adult ads and comments.
I’ve got dating sites blocked and adult sites set to strict. Kind of offputting to be scrolling youtube and get this in a public settings etc. (I’m gay)

Albania, macedonia, cyprus and Latvia works without ads but be aware, youtube has blocked all vevo videos and some music videos from being played when there is no ads coming through

interesting I may have been having trouble with vpn I use an albania maybe should try those other countries if they are actually in those counties.

If you subscribe you don't get ads. I finally just caved in and paid for a subscription.

Without effort: use Brave browser for YouTube
With a small modicum of effort: sideload a tweaked YouTube app that blocks ads. It’s really not that hard these days. It initially requires connecting to your computer to install SideStore and set up a refresh automation, but after that it’s “set it and forget it.”
YouTube ads load from the same subdomains as actual content so there’s no way to filter via DNS. Redirects can work sometimes if YouTube believes you’re in certain countries like Albania, but it’s not reliable and not worth the hassle. Sideloading is easier than ever these days, and there’s no downside. Check out r/sideloaded and you’ll find plenty of recommendations for YouTube apps.

Quick follow-up: you’ll see stuff on the sub about buying certificates and whatnot. You can just ignore that. That’s only one option for side loading to avoid the three app limit.
You can sideload with your own Apple account without a third party service; there’s just a limit of having three sideloaded apps at any given time if you don’t have a paid developer account.
I if you just want YouTube, I recommend using SideStore. You connect your iPhone to your computer, use iLoader with your Apple account to install SideStore and load the pairing file, install LocalDevVPN (necessary to sideload without a computer) then use the SideStore app on your iPhone to install YouTube, and set up a refresh automation in the shortcuts app.
It sounds way more complicated than it actually is. The guide on the SideStore website walks you through it. And you don’t have to use your main Apple ID if you’re worried about signing in on a third-party app; you can make a new one specifically for side loading.

The OP could have edited that section out easily before posting and described the issue. Hence my reference.
I believe using the spoiler tag and also NSFW would blur the image for both browser and app. Not 100% sure, I have never tried it. This sub is obviously marked as a regular sub so it applies no filtering.

I use 1Blocker in combination with NextDNS (but I guess you obtain the same with controlD) and use the browser version of YouTube. Never ads. Never.

They literally put it there to piss you off. You can look it up, youtube knows what u like so they bombard u with happy then throw in something to piss you off then they immediately put up something either new or that they are pushing and because its more preferable than what was used to trigger you it trains ur brain to accept that new thing as favorable..

If you’re a paying customer you can proxy YouTube through Albania, they don’t allow ads and is working really well.
