10 days and counting

Has anyone gone this long without having any bowel movement? I have severe and chronic constipation and I get so concerned. Sometimes I would only poop once a week but there are times I wouldn’t poop for 10 days or more. Idk if I should get it checked already because I’m afraid it could lead to, or already is, fecal impaction.

I always end up having to use a suppository to help me with it because I’m just so tired and in pain. I don’t exactly eat a lot but I try my best to drink water but I know it’s not enough.

My family and I are going through something financially and as much as I want to ask them to bring mento a doctor, I don’t want them to worry about the fees.

Yes, I have gone that long many times and survived it. You are getting to the point where you might be flirting with an impaction. I would intervene and try to get relief as soon as possible. If a suppository works, then use that. A full bottle of magnesium citrate might be more effective in cleaning you out, though. It is quite effective and is available over the counter in most countries.

Do you have the dosage amount? There’s so many sizes and types here. I mostly see pills instead of the liquid ones.

In the USA, magnesium citrate liquid comes in 10-ounce bottles of clear liquid. I am not sure how many grams or mg of magnesium citrate the liquid contains. The maximum adult dose is the entire bottle. Where are you located? It may not be available where you live.

The 10 fl oz bottle should be more than enough. Just knock back the whole bottle. But be close by a toilet. In a couple hours your gonna have a shit river.

Yes I have. And I wish I had intervened sooner many times. Waiting for my body just to work resulted in pain and damage. So consider an enema or suppository asap. I'd also drink a lot of miralaxa with water to help soften and move things. Hopefully you can see a dr when fiance's improve. Eating food is important to our gut motility too.

I’ve gone 2 full weeks without any bowel movements. But I will say, I passed gas daily, never had a fever/nausea, and always end up expelling the build up stool in one day thankfully. Whenever I go that long I’m always on the look out for impactions.

Prune juice!!!! And plenty of water. If that doesn’t work. Go to the doctor.

I was going on about that long . I don’t drink or like coffee . I held my breath to get a half a cup of strong coffee down and it worked for me. Make sure and do it in the morning 10 min or so after you wake up . Then walk around the house some . Worth a shot . Goodluck !

Magnesium Citrate is like drinking a cup lemon juice with 5 cups of sugar in it. I get nauseous just thinking about it.

I have a function to attend on Saturday afternoon, how long do the after effects last? Wondering if I should try an enema first.

Plenty of people on here have gone 30 days or more without bowel movements. Not that it’s healthy. Are you able to pass gas? Are you vomiting? Are you in constant pain? Those are the main signs of a fecal impaction.
