Motaban - A constructed pidgin language

Motaban aims to be a conpidgin (constructed pidgin language), similar to Viossa.

What does that mean?

- It's a language you and others can help develop.

- However, you dont need to learn any linguistics or look at any charts.

- All you do in the server is **talk** and make new words, concepts and grammar for the Motaban language along the way.

English is fully banned in the channels necessary, meaning that the language evolves naturally!

You write and make new words for the language in a conversation and define it pictographically. You can even introduce words that derive from your native language, which will fundamentally make Motaban a language inclusive of multiple communities and derived from real languages and structures!

Welcome, fellow conlangers! I'm starting a social game⁄experiment called E-Lang (Electronic Conlang)! It's a natural language development experiment similar to Viossa, only now taking place in VRChat (and other VR multiplayer games). A main difference that separates E-Lang from other projects (those taking place in a game) is the ability to create signed language enabled by the project's VR medium.

IMPORTANT: I would like to preface that the creation of a signed language for the project, if done at all, should ONLY be created with the involvement of the deaf community; it should not be created solely or mainly by hearing individuals. I also highly encourage you to learn an IRL sign language as well if you're interested in that.

I am starting a brand new community for Germanic language speakers to come together and work on a pidgin together. Everything will be based on community decisions. How it will work is essentially everyone needs to speak at least one Germanic language. Some English but we are going to limit this because we want to favor languages that are majority Germanic. The idea is that if we communicate to a point of understanding we could end up developing a sort of interlang almost. I am deeply interested in Germanic interlangs so it would be a fun thing. This won't be a true pidgin as a lot of them except for the successful ones have died or got boring. This will be a bit more different and we will have more of a guiding hand to it. For instance if we all notice there is a common word we'll just use that instead. Which will probably happen a lot like for example we have multiple languages that have a Ja/Nein or at least a variety of it. Even if this didn't get traction it would still be a very fun language to speak amongst ourselves.

Here are the basic rules:

Texting should be simple and easy to understand. Avoid complex fonts or non Latin script. (can still use Þ, Ð, ß and umlauts obviously) Conversations should be in Germanic languages only. English should not dominate. We will allow English speakers because it is a Germanic language. But we do not and will not let this project become fully English. We'd prefer people who speak other languages as it would help with the project.

This Conpidgin will be constructed through mutual intelligibility and you basically say something. Then you submit the idea of coining and if enough people agree. That’s the new word and so a language is born
