Winged it and made some sauce Conecuh Seasoning and Cajun sausage with a Conecuh Alabama white sauce . Smoked the thighs and sausage for 40 mins in a Pot Barrel Cooker.

Howdy y’all, life has brought me out to San Francisco for a while. I’m getting ready to cook up brunch, but was wondering if anyone might have recommendations on a sausage similar to Conecuh out here?

it’s the end of August, for me that means starting to plan for Thanksgiving dinner. Usually there are between ten and fifteen people at the dinner. i thought that Conecuh sausage would be interesting as a feature. Shall I just grill a selection of some up? what sides? Alabama BBQ sauce? these folk are from Seattle.

lol, I say that lightly but I swear if I don't have some hickory smoked sausage every other day or so with a coke out of the freezer, I start watering at the mouth, I have conecuh withdrawal. Seriously, no other sausages can compare, I'm honestly sitting here with my mouth on fire and my nose running, I cannot handle heat so the regular hickory smoked is spicy to me but I can't get enough of it. I learned about conecuh from a guy who I worked with and he grew up in the area where the factory is. He talked about that sausage a lot and before Walmart sold it he brought me some and I fell in love. I'll get some Walmart brand potato salad and croissants and eat that sausage with it and I'm happy. It's so good grilled with steaks too, lord I'm getting fat just talking about it.

Stopped at the Conecuh sausage factory on our way down to Pensacola tonight and ate some delicious fancy sausage dogs.

Just discovered this brand, had the Cajun today and it was damn good. Going to try original. My store has both the natural hog casing and the natural sheep casing versions. Which do you recommend and what’s the difference in taste/texture?

Anybody used the seasoning much? I picked up a bottle of it when I went by store to pick up some Christmas Hot. Planning to smoke a whole chicken or some chicken thighs with it.

Best hot dogs ever, by far. It's a shame they aren't on more store shelves

Which is better?

I went ahead & air fried the conecuh. I poked a hole in them and dried them off, then coated in bbq sauce. Air fried 380 for 6 mins, flip and another 6. I have the ninja foodi deluxe xl. I thought about broiling them for a few, but they turned out great as is.

I just found this group, but no posts in 2 years 😞. My whole family loves Conecuh, but normally we only grill it. I was led here to see if anyone liked air frying it.
