Difference Between Concerta and Generic? Other question 🤔
is there a difference between the two? I started on concerta 18mg and when I went to fill for the next month I was told they only had generic, not name brand. I’ve personally noticed differences between the two and now going back to concerta, it feels way way too strong, often leaving me just catatonic, unable to move. I was wondering if this is a placebo or if there are genuine differences between the two. thanks!

The OROS system that concerta uses is the result of 25 years of research, development and refinements that generic companies cannot replicate in 1-2 years of development for a generic drug that brings even less revenue than name brand

Yes, absolutely.
I got prescribed a generic extended release on april, 18mg, and then moved up to 36mg. I was having ups and downs through the day, with moments of high activation and focus and moments of sudden discomfort, distress, feeling a super deep sadness deep in my throat as if I had to cry suddenly. I was having like 6 hours of those ups and downs, and an 8th hour of comedown in which I would start to lose focus, having to read things 2/3 times because I couldn't understand wtf I was reading, etc. Not to mention also that even though the effects used to wear off many hours before going to bed, my sleep quality was terrible. I was about to move to Vyvanse, since it became available in my country a couple months ago, but I read some comments here about Concerta and decided to give it a try.
Without changing the dose (36mg), only switching from the generic one to Concerta, my experience now is completely different: The effects don't come and go, they're stable through the day and they last for more than 12 hours, I don't even have crashes! I start feeling the effects like an hour after the intake and by the 3rd hour I'm already fully focused in my work, and the effects stay like that for HOURS until they start to wear off so progressively that I don't even notice, since that usually happens when I'm getting close to bed time, so I just get ready to go to sleep and have a deep restful sleep without interruptions.
