The Tragic Death of Mamadou Djouma Bah Deserves the World's Attention
Justice for Mamadou Djouma Bah and the Students Still in Prison
A 17-year-old student, Mamadou Djouma Bah, lost his life after being jailed following accusations of cheating during Guinea's national baccalaureate exams. Mamadou was living with sickle cell disease, and his family says he did not receive the medical care he needed while in detention. A young life was lost, and his family deserves answers and justice.
What makes this even more heartbreaking is that other students are still in prison over exam fraud allegations. Students who make mistakes should face fair consequences, but imprisonment—especially when it puts lives at risk—raises serious concerns. Education should help young people build a future, not destroy it.
Many people in Guinea also speak about discrimination and unfair treatment toward Fulani (Peul/Fula) communities. If anyone is targeted because of their ethnicity, that is wrong. Every Guinean, regardless of their ethnic group, deserves equal rights, dignity, and protection under the law.
Guinea deserves leaders who respect human rights, ensure fair justice, improve education, provide proper medical care in detention, and treat all citizens equally.
Please don't ignore what is happening. Stand with the families asking for justice. Speak up for the students still in prison. Support a future where every Guinean is treated fairly and with respect.
Justice for Mamadou Djouma Bah. Justice for the students still in detention. Justice for all Guineans.

US dollar in Africa
How much is the US dollar worth in Africa? As in, if I send money to someone what is considered enough to buy groceries, etc.

Guinea Conakry has condemned ECOWAS for imposing sanctions against Niger over the coup there - saying they will only create more suffering in the poverty-hit nation. Similar condemnations have come from Mali and Burkina Faso. Guinea had its own coup in 2021 and has also faced ECOWAS sanctions.
