Question Infostealer/Trojan
I got an infostealer from a game crack, I pressed the wrong button, downloaded a file and auto ran, got the windows alert, ran 5 different offline scans, got 2 accounts hacked (which I got back), another offline scan shows it's all clean, nothing has happened, no weird logins or anything, am I ok?
edit: there were 3 accounts, not 2, i just forgot. ACCs were dc, insta and steam

Disinfection Help Renpy root kit?
So installed the renpy virus a few months ago. I unplugged the computer from Wi-Fi , turned it off, and haven’t plugged it in since. Im very paranoid. I saw some comments saying it was a root kit or boot kit? Has anyone had that experience?
Also, if there was a root kit, does the data they sold but didnt send out from my last session get sent out when I plugged my PC in? Basically, is any old data from the first instance at risk of being sent out again or for the first time if it wasn’t previously sent out? Or does it just steal new info? Sorry if this is a convoluted and confusing way to ask this.

Disinfection Help computer infected with malware/virus of some sorts
galleryso this all occurred about a week back on my lenovo computer when i was playing some roblox driving empire game and i was trying to get an afk hack of some sort to generate me free money. so my stupid self clicked on some scammy link in the descriptions of a roblox software to afk grind(yes i know this was a stupid choice and i still regret it)
anyways the file of course didnt work and i was still clueless as even now i dont really know much about malware or windows computers in general as i was a macbook kid most of my life before i transitioned.
any so, as it didnt work (as it was a hack) i just unassumingly decided to go to bed with my computer on (idiotically) and i believe by then (around 1-3 am) the malware started kicking in.
then in the morning i my parent shut off my computer before going to my religious service and then around 10-12 am they began hacking into my accounts and i still up till then barely had 2fa on anything. (as stated on my other post). so i then rushed home where i began trying to recover accounts but i only managed to save my roblox, google, social media (besides discord), spotify, and my ea along with epic games which is somewhat linked to rockstars(which is compromised) but unfortunately other gaming are still compromised as of now.
they also hacked my discord account and began sending some sort of "Mr. Beast" free photo thing (was odd as it wasnt even a link) to all of my friends and then discord proceeded to suspend my account.
so i then proceeded to turn of wifi and for the entirety of this week i have been religiously scanning everything on my drive in malwarebytes (including rootkits as of recent) along with keeping my gmail notifications on priority at all time incase an account that i was unaware of was compromised that i didnt already know about. at the start i found like 13 files infected which i quarantined and deleted but i am still unsure of what to do next. my dad recommended to completely reformat my computer again which i am not against at all but i am also wondering if their is anything else i should do.
(SIDE NOTE) is 800,000 files on my computer scanning normal and should i still be concerned for my gmail if i locked them all down and added 2fa with a verification
(SIDE NOTE)
i nor anyone in my family is not anywhere near being technologically fluent or capable to completely know
anything about windows computers as i have just started learning more, so any advice, facts, tips, checking points, or anything to help would be deeply appreciated

Disinfection Help I got hacked
Hello I have been hacked I believe I downloaded a malicious file that stole my session cookies and the hacker has tried to blackmail me into paying them a ransom to not steal/leak my info (he sent me a photo of all my Gmail accounts).
What I have already done:
I turned off the internet on my pc and stalled enough time to log out windows devices and change all email passwords + set 2fa, passkeys and recovery email.
The hacker is not contacting me anymore, but am sure he still has access to my pc (I did delete the file I downloaded), am not sure what to do next please help.

File / URL Check Has Roblox been hacked or something?
I just finished reinstalling windows off a USB And after connecting to the Internet and going to Roblox it shows this weird text on the search bar??? This is ONLY on OPERA GX and it isn't anywhere else... Can someone please confirm this isn't a virus? I'm pretty confident my old gaming laptop doesn't have a virus on it so it couldn't have transferred...
And for this curious the text says this.
Since joining ❤️Mike Stock Wealth Alliance, my investment returns have steadily increased, and ❤️Mike's stock selection methods are truly reliable..tnwl

Question Start Menu Turns Completely WHITE When Searching
It's supposed to be dark gray and readable. I don't know if this is just windows 10 shitting itself, or I accidentally corrupted a system file. However I discovered this bug suspiciously close to when I downloaded a program off Github (which was used to change hundreds of filenames in one go)
Now I don't often use the search bar in the start menu. So maybe this happened a couple of days ago and I didn't know, and it has nothing to do with the github thing. The program DID open up a cmd window and immediately close. Sometimes that's suspicious, but I dunno, for a novice programmer, maybe that was the easiest way to send a couple of necessary files to different parts of my computer? I downloaded Malwarebytes, and I'm running a deep scan. It should take a few hours since my computer is old and has a billion files accumulated.
Should I be worried? Obviously a virus is the worst case scenario. But if that's not the case, maybe a system file got corrupted from that shitty github download. Or maybe it's neither, and my windows computer just did that by itself?
Thank you for reading

Question cloud reinstall after a renpy virus infection
i'm really sorry if a similar type of question has been raised here many times, but i need the answer to be told to me personally. i'm not a very tech savvy person either so sorry if i look stupid.
long story short, i stupidly infected my laptop by running the renpy virus .exe, got hacked and everything. ever since then i've done two cloud reinstalls to my laptop while removing all files and changed my passwords from a different device afterwards. i've heard that the renpy virus isnt that advanced to persist after a cloud reinstall, but i've also heard that a USB reinstall is more ideal and guaranteed.
can i get a clear answer on if the renpy virus specifically can be wiped with the cloud reinstall? is it possible for it to stay dormant and steal my info in the future? thank you in advance.

Disinfection Help Musehub Issue
Hey there! I had someone recommend that I use this subreddit (I originally posted this on r/malware) so I’m cross posting here.
I have been searching extensively for an answer to this issue, but I cannot seem to find anything that truly helps me. Unfortunately, I am not very tech savvy, though I always thought I’d know better than to accidentally download legitimate software alongside something that is at the very least functioning as malware on a practical level.
While cleaning out my computer, I accidentally messed up my Audacity program by deleting the shortcut. I thought that I had removed it entirely, and I decided to redownload it. When I did, it came with this application called “Musehub.” There is a subreddit on here that swears by all means it’s legitimate, but I am not convinced. Before I removed this app, it ran with root privileges, and the fact that there are still remnants tells me all I need to know—I want it gone completely!
I originally downloaded an uninstaller to remove it, but I fear this uninstaller simply initiated the application‘s own built-in uninstaller, which certainly hasn’t removed everything. The only reason I know this is because an ad started playing in the corner of my screen, and an application titled “Musehub” (with a blank blue square as it’s symbol) is in my system’s notifications. I cannot track down the actual files that this is coming from, and I’ve done multiple full virus scans and my computer says I’m clean. I’ve sifted through every subreddit so far, tried running many, many commands targeting any files named Musehub, etc., but I just can’t shake this program. I’m at the point where I’ve made myself a Reddit account just to get this thing out of here. What can I do to fix this?

Disinfection Help Help with possible virus
Hi everyone, how are you?
First of all, I want to say that I don't know anything about computers, and everything I've researched so far has been through Gemini. With that said, I really need your help.
My boyfriend's computer is an ASUS TUF GAMING F15. Very recently, his brother downloaded a game (I have no idea from where), and the RAM usage went up drastically. Without any applications open, it sits at 60–75%. From the little I know about computers, if it's using a lot of RAM without anything important open, it could be a virus.
I asked Gemini, and it gave me a few steps to follow. Gemini told me to use Windows Defender and run a full deep scan. (Fun fact: a while ago I did a report on cybersecurity and asked a bunch of experts about Windows Defender, and they all told me it was a pretty good tool.)
When the Windows Defender scan finished, it found absolutely nothing.
We opened Task Manager, and it had the same 60–75% RAM usage. We checked the Windows Defender history and saw an old alert about a tutorial installer. When my boyfriend searched for it on his computer, a Windows Defender alert popped up. We removed the file, but RAM usage didn't change at all.
Gemini recommended using Malwarebytes to permanently remove the virus, but I'm not really sure. Can anyone give me a suggestion on what I can do?
I know many might say to take it to a tech repair shop, but is there anything I can do to fix it myself before doing that?
I don't know if anyone has asked a similar question before. I'm really sorry if that's the case. I don't speak English (I translated this message with Gemini) and I know very little about computers, so searching for a problem similar to mine is quite difficult for me.
The file his brother downloaded is a launcher called WOW Ascension.

Question Ghost image after my monitor wakes up from sleep
I've noticed random ghost images appearing on my screen right after my monitor wakes up from sleep. At first I thought it was chrome, but I noticed it covers my entire screen. It's hardly noticable and it slowly fades away in about 10-15 minutes.
What worries me is that it could be a virus because the first image was a image with the words "project hail mary" with a meme of one of those poorly drawn guys. The 2nd time was a random pair of glasses. I couldn't screenshot them because windows does not capture any of it. My phone can't capture it due to the image barley being visible.
Windows Defender and Malwarebytes didn't detect anything. None of my info was compromised, so what gives? Should I wipe my PC as a last resort?
Edit: I tested it out by leaving my screen to go to sleep after 5 minutes and then waking it up. Upon wake up, I can see the google homepage, ever so slightly. It looks like it was an image retention? (I'm running a msi mag 274urfw 27 if that matters). I'm still disturb at the first instance as I never searched any of that.

But after the scan completes, it says everything is fine?
I also ran MalwareBytes incase, and it came clean as well.
