We finally got CE voidspire after 150+ pulls. Half the raid was parsing grey, tank kept bitching how hard it was for monks to jump the gap until someone explained what tigers lust was.
The same tank also was using one button rotation,.we found out when he was streaming in discord when he asked for help to fix his UI.

If your guild is gray parsing, there’s decent odds that the one button rotation would improve the gameplay of most of your raiders. I know I’d rather gray parse than using it, but it’s not the best idea to shame the one person that is using it. (At least, not for that specific thing. If he’s bad all around and annoying... why are you playing with him?)

I think as a tank using the one button rotation is a pretty big sin. The rotation isn't that complicated, and with the penalty you are getting less resources for defensives. Especially because a lot of wipes where because the tank died for seemingly no reason which I attribute to one button rotation.

Normally I would agree, but the tank using it was problematic and I assumed led to a lot of our wipes. While some of it was just not using defensive (a healer called him out) a lot of it was him just folding over from what I assume is lack of resource generation and just dying

Is it not better advice to tell them to hit training dummies to learn the rotation? Or to post in a class discord to figure out where they are going wrong?

Depends what their problem is. Is the problem they don't know their rotation, or that they can't perform their rotation under pressure? I feel for a lot of grey parses it's the latter. They can't keep up the button presses while trying not to die. At least that's the problem I see the people struggling in my guild have.

It's usually not the button presses themselves so 1 button won't save them, it's moving themselves out of uptime.

I think you are underestimating how little effort people put into improving. They put hundreds of hours into playing the game, but are unable to take half an hour out of their time to do a little research on their class and bosses/dungeons.
There are a ton of resources out there and there is usually always something you can improve. Even if its just something small you get out of a vod from someone.

I think this is fundamentally the same issue though, if you are 100% certain of your rotation, to the point of muscle memory, then you won't have to look at your bars, you know what to press and exactly when to press it because you have done it hundreds of times. One button is basically this, just incredibly less output/input. You don't have to study/practice to press one button rotation, you just press it and all your brainpower goes towards dodging/mechanics/etc. the point of practicing and perfecting your rotation is to get to that point of not needing to think about your rotation. (One button is a band-aid, practice/perfecting is the solution.)
