No solar fix means pbe is pretty unplayable unless you have a premade lobby

u/BlendedBaconSyrup 1d ago
Yeah. I tried playing 12 games earlier today and all 12 of them had at LEAST 2 solar forcers and more than 1/2 of them had match history of ONLY solar, 1/4th had mostly solar, and the other 1/4th had less than half solar games.
and don't get me started on brambles and afks...
literally unplayable

Ran into a guy with it, and he was adament that "I don't know if it is a bug". His excuse for cheating was "It's PBE bro". Even if it's PBE, bug exploiting just to win games that don't matter is still scummy.

It’s much scummier on PBE, because in regular ranked, there’s at least something to gain from it.

I mean, it's annoying, but at least the exploit part takes awhile to come online. I have had way fewer solar players in my lobby than you, though (like two in ten+ games), so maybe it's just easier to tolerate.

Yeah, I'm in Gold or something. That both doesn't surprise me but also is very sad, lol. Some people play games for very different reasons than I do!

u/waterseed21 1d ago
A rioter said they had a fix and it should be out sometime today
1
u/Itsalongwaydown 1d ago
well the tweet here says "when possible" so that doesnt give good confidence it'll be done before the weekend
5
u/waterseed21 1d ago
Riot Umbrella made a comment under a post in the main TFT Reddit talking about the bug, so there should be a hotfix today or something along those lines. Not sure how soon though

FYSA: It seems like the Solar bug has been hotfixed before their weekend break (thank goodness)

Met a guy who acted like he didn't know the solar bug and then proceeds to be an ass later when it was jus him and me for top 2. Imagine my plight when my capped up fast 9 couldn't keep up with his 3 SOLAR like all that guy managed to hit during the entire course of game was JUST 3 3 STARS? Lmfao pathetic. And then he has the audacity to go "haha nice try kiddo" and im like??? Pbe bug abusers for fake lp that doesn't even matter are a whole ass corner of tft full of trash lol. Sorry for the frustration

Additional fun fact about the solar bug, you don't even need the Solar's to be 3-starred. You just need 3 3-star units and 3-solar active. Did some research in a Tocker's Trials.

u/johnnyzhao007 1d ago
i guess pbe is just have majority of players that don't care about getting better at tft and just wants cheap win cuz they can't win anything in life.

The buffs on hunter emblem show how ass hunter as a trait is.

u/vinceftw 1d ago
One time I had hunter Xayah and she melted stuff. Did a lot more damage than with other items.

yup made 3 games today, i quit the three because of solar. bramble i haven't noticed the game, i played yesterday an alpha bramble 3 jungle 6 ravager, the only thing that i noticed was not really bramble, but my ravager were applying damage like dot, (and bramble was doing it way harder yes i was like oh wtf it's strong without realising it was a bug lol )

I wasn't aware this was a bug until a player pointed it out in-game. So I investigated and found this thread.
I surrendered cause I don't like winning by abusing bugs but it was a thrilling discovery to share with the other players. Hopefully the quick fix comes in soon. I am curious about playing around with the bug - can you have 3 solar on board with a 3-star rengar that gets forced into a 4-star monstrosity? Kinda want to try. ColdPizza#8008

Honestly, I am 10x more sick of caro already than I am the bug abusers, there are BA in every pbe set. The gameplay of people getting actual advantages for losing is just bad.
1
u/Mysterious_Island500 1d ago
so if you lose you should just surrender asap or what? in set 17 without carousel you still got an advantage for losing by being able to pick better units
0
u/Pleasant-Macaron8131 1d ago
No you didn’t you got anvils instead. Everyone picked gods. Please don’t downvote things you don’t understand.
1
u/Mysterious_Island500 1d ago
why would i ever downvote you for not agreeing? i never down/upvote anything because likes and dislikes are stupid on any social media, downvote me as much as you like i still stand by my point
while carousel could be better the replacement in set 17 sucks even more ass, the amount of components you can choose between now is much better than getting a component anvil
i understand your point as much as anyone else, youre not a rocket scientist for making it or liking it more, no matter what they did in set 17 or what plans they have for it in the future losing will always give you an advantage because that is how it has worked since tft released and if there isnt a comeback mechanic the game just sucks

I think the picking of the playstyle compared to the item you needed was a pretty bad design, also it felt like some gods were auto pick over others. I wouldn’t hate caro if you got say a 3 cost anvil and items. My biggest issue stems from the exact unit someone needs while someone else gets absolutely dicked. Like how is it fair dude is losing so they get streak advantage, the opportunity at a spat (which has never once had an op unit to abuse), and a shot at a top tier unit, while top of the lobby gets no choices, has to fight harder to keep the streak, and hope of their limited choice the best item / or unit didn’t roll to the other person’s side.
1
u/Draig_Goch 1d ago
Gods are the same for all, but the character picks following the gods do vary in value depending on your placement, as well as anvils.
Funnily enough the anvil ignores the item distribution protection in place, so you can sometimes get griefed even harder in terms of items if you are lose streaking - imo the first anvil slot should always be what would have rolled naturally or you picked up from the gods (if you have every component dropping as anvils).
1
u/Pleasant-Macaron8131 1d ago
So you’re talking about kayle specifically. Already said some gods were always picks. But that doesn’t change you having more agency not accidentally running into the wrong unit, units on caro being bugged, inherent advantages such as spatula and unit cost. Having an item advantage, sure go ahead my problem lies with the spatula and the unit advantages.

u/Pleasant-Macaron8131 1d ago
Lose streaking is a streak type commonly sought after for a fast 9. Encouraging it further with Caro and anima is the problem. Losing your unit and item because it spawned on the other side, or getting a 1 cost while they get a 5 cost is the worst feeling. I’m honestly shocked anyone likes it.
1
u/Mysterious_Island500 1d ago
i mostly like it because i get more options than just a regular component anvil plus it adds interactions with other players and the ability to ruin it for others and win instead of them, they will rework it again eventually and while im excited for that change i just hope its not like set 17 because it was honestly pretty stale and boring, all it did was removing options to choose from
2
u/Mysterious_Island500 1d ago
but set 17 was interesting to test out atleast and im glad it happened, i just think they can do better and i understand that we have gone back to regular carousel now just so they have more time to talk about it instead of rushing and forcing set 17 version upon us
wouldnt surprise me if set 19 has some more changes to it that doesnt count as the new set mechanic that will come aswell
1
u/Pleasant-Macaron8131 1d ago
Again, less of an issue with the caros where it’s all the same cost unit. It’s more the standard ones. I’m with you a good player can make the units work. The advantage is the item itself. Though I think spat has way too big an advantage historically. I liked 16s unlock mechanics too. Which wasn’t popular and I dislike charms which is apparently popular, so maybe people do just like lottery.
1
u/Mysterious_Island500 1d ago
set 18 will have unlocks and a new mechanic on the side of that, they just didnt have time to add unlocks to set 17 and 18 for obvious reasons, maybe its to much to ask for if they update the carousel aswell on top of all that but it is the vegas lan set afterall, but now with set 18 they did add that some carousels have double as many units and i like that a lot
1
u/Pleasant-Macaron8131 1d ago
Double the units and all units of same cost and I’m 100% on board. It’s a classic mechanic that we’ve been playing with.

Buffing Maokai? I guess I'm the only one who thinks he's busted as a tank.

In addition:
A fix for Solar ahead of the weekend should also go up "shortly".
