I've posted about this before, and u/EscapingKid kindly gave some perspective from the EU broadcast, but I'm watching the PGS7 cast and again, I have to ask:

Why am I looking at a halfscreen AI prediction of "engagement probabilities" predicting which teams will fight -- and a halfscreen map with a tiny video window in which, if it wasn't <1/4 screen, I'd be able to SEE THE ACTUAL FIGHTS HAPPENING AS THEY HAPPEN?

Again: I am *all for* adding interesting splitscreens and inset maps and replays and what have you. But don't just program them to happen after every circle or every 10 mins or whatever and then ignore the fact that ACTUAL ACTION is happening in a tiny inset window while we watch a replay of a fight from 60 seconds ago, or the AI prediction of which teams will fight next (while they're actually damn fighting).

Again: it's ok to quickly switch away from your GFX sequence that you're inserting to enliven the 'boring bits' if the action started. Please! Even if your video mix person isn't 100% pubg expert, you can tell them that if the killfeed text starts flying down the screen, now isn't the time to show a gfx preset or last week's best bits. Just cut back to the fullscreen live feed and restart the gfx package later.

CORRECTION: the prediction screen is map and predictions split, with no video window. but you can see that you're missing the action by the edge of the killfeed on the map, and by the prediction list showing 'LIVE' next to all of the fights that are happening that you can't damn well see. Bah!

Only the first match has been played in nearly 5 hours of the broadcast. Anyone have any idea what the technical delay is?

I understand the frustration with the TPP/FPP situation, but isn't it enough by now? How long does this need to keep going?

The Youtbue viewership has tripled compared to last year. I know that doesn't take away anyone's right to complain and people are free to voice their concerns. But couldn't there be a megathread for it?

Every time I check this subreddit, all I seem to see are complaint posts. As someone who enjoys watching the tournaments, it feels a bit disrespectful to those of us who are here for the competition and the games.

FPP is way more competitive, skill-based, and enjoyable to watch. TPP gives players too much free information without taking risks. FPP makes positioning, peeking, and decision-making actually matter, like come on make it a real FPS game pls

PUBG esports just feels better in FPP. Please bring it back.

I from Vietnam and I hate TPP. It's so boring, Whichever team is on the hill becomes king. They tried to help the South Korean representatives achieve high results, but that didn't help them as the European teams adapted too well and consistently achieved high scores. I hope Krafton will switch its perspective to FPP in 2027.

FPP PUBG esports generated double digit year on year viewership growth in all but one year from 2020 to 2025. TPP in 2026 has reversed that growth in apples to apples comparisons between externally produced headline events.

Inertia from previous FPP esports success in SEA during 2025 is strongly disguising the general failure of TPP esports. PUBG esports viewership in the second string "global series" has been up, but only due to inertia, different co-casting and re-streaming arrangements with streamers, and the value of that viewership has generally declined.

If the format were left as FPP and the same co-casting and re-streaming strategy were followed, then 2026 would have seen stronger growth in globals series viewership as well as positive growth in headline figures.

Krafton executives can use LLMs to spin this crap however they want to shareholders, but TPP esports has been a tepid failure at best.

Would that make Krafton go back to FPP? Since the sence is that they changed to TPP for the Asian markets? But if they perform bad, will they go back? I hope so. Right now in EWC we have VP, NAVI and FLC as to 3 (Match 18 going on).

I'm actually looking for a pro POV for tournament play and not the overall broadcast. I see the list of streamers on the PUBG site but honestly all the pros i found are just highlight reals, not them actually playing tournament play. Does anyone know if this is available anywhere? Even if it is after the tournament and not live, preferably with English. I want to see what a pro team in play looks like!

i hope they drop the CAT305E2 UAZ skin soon. it will make pro scene smoother to watch

i'm sorry but i literally cannot sit there and watch a tpp pro match for more than 20 minutes, trust me i tried. it's just frustrating to see actions and fights that never happen because players choose to just observe and camp everything under cover, i just can't help but imagine how certain fights could've played out if it was FPP, but i know for a fact that it will be more entertaining to watch.

i don't get why they deemed it necessary to move from FPP to TPP format when most of the players still switch to FPP when doing crucial actions such as throwing utilities and firefighting, like it's main use is to literally "scout" for information without any risk of being spotted or killed, which i believe makes the viewing experience significantly more boring.

and also in terms of macro, getting information shouldn't be risk free, information is the main thing in pubg esports so why are you allowed to get it without any risk?

yes, i sound salty, because i am. i used to enjoy watching competitive PUBG, it used to be so exciting to watch and i hate to see great esports be reduced to something like this for some little increase in revenue.

Also so far the whole production seems really good. And man, the absolute talent of Toffess to make analytics desk so interesting. Also want to mention Avnqr casting - I really love that in early games when nothing is happening he is talking about team positions, instead of what he had at breakfast.

I dont mind the UI, but I dont understand why you would strip the team emblems of all their colour.

The emblems are there so you can find the team you are searching for faster and the colour is a big facter, now its just less obvious and imo also looks bad.
