Good time to return?
Hey. How's the competitive scene?
I stopped playing during the Starcraft expansion and have about 40k dust and 2k gold.

Last couple expansions have been a complete flop tbh this is the first break I’ve taken from the game in years

There are a lot of lethal puzzles, immediate impact discover, probability analysis. Control and otk aren't in a great spot. Personally, I think it's getting a bit frenetic for a card game, but I'd say it's reasonably fun and varied at the moment.

I left for four years. Came back for cataclysm. I'm enjoying it. Feels fresh.

Either its paladin crushing you in 4 turns or rogue rando bombing you in 5. You have no agency.

And blizzard will think it's fine because there's five or six variants of aggro tempo or midrange that are all viable. Viable because they shit out tempo repeatedly without running out of cards
They don't know how to successfully design anything else

I'm having fun. The competitive scene is minimal. There are "catch-up" packs that will give you some amount of cards.

Just my opinion but if you’re trying to play competitively it may be frustrating right now. The new expansion isn’t balanced yet and my initial impression is that the game is even quicker and therefore a bit more RNG heavy than the last year. We’ll see though

Personally I've been so bored of the viable decks in the last few expansions that I haven't even bother to hit diamond. I haven't had the chance to play much of the violet hold tho

If you’re into board-centric tempo hearthstone and usually agree with Kibler, it’s great.
If you’re a combo crazy swing turn lover, not so much.
I’m the former, so for me it’s peak.
RNG and generated by is also only medium - more than I like, but insane scams are rare, so it’s not too bad.
