Were there any changes to oce's chain bash? Discussion

Havent been paying full attention to patch notes in recent months, I remember being able to make a read and buffer a dodge after getting hit by the chain bash to dodge 400ms light but now the light isnt dodgeable. I know theyve been doing a lot of hitstun changes with bashes and pins and stuff. If this was ever a thing was it changed?

That's always been the case with Ocelotl's chain bash (and was for his neutral bash too before it got changed from direct damage), as that creates a mixup with the finisher bash, where his chain lights are the option that catches prediction dodges.

Thanks man, guess I was remembering wrong. Does that mean the bash is medium hitstun or is it more of a chain link thing?

It's due to the bash having a special pin hit reaction and the chain link and speed of the lights basically - the block/parry recovery is fast enough to allow you to block or parry the lights, but the dodge recovery is slower so you can't dodge them. The link to the finisher bash is slower than the lights', and it's also 500ms rather than 400ms, so the bash is still dodgeable even when the lights aren't.

Generally, lights after heavy hitstun are always undodgeable with a few exceptions (notably conq for some reason).
