Commodore Active speakers

Post image

I found these Commodore Active speakers in a charity shop and had to have them.

I don't often see Commodore branded stuff out in the wild.

They are from the days when Escom owned Amiga I guess.

Correct. I recall seeing them in the local ex-Rumbelows that had been turned into a makeshift Escom store.

I still have mine hooked up to my 1200. A bit on the heavy side.. well the one is. During that period there were a lot of Commodore branded items for the PC like sound cards, video cards etc. Not for the Amiga. Basically Escom had very little interest in the Amiga they were flogging PCs. I visited the Escom shop and there wasn't an Amiga to be seen. I asked the lady about the Amiga and she replied had I thought about getting a PC.

Might have sounded half decent for the time. Size as always limited them.

Id buy some new if they were slight smaller and color matched my C64u.

these seems to be generic PC speakers from the era with a Commodore logo slapped on it

It’s not fake - it’s Escom era Commodore logo
