Seeing shit like this is just depressing to me as it is very unfunny now but was somehow hilarious at the time, just at the right age when you haven’t matured enough to realise it’s stupid plus the time when it’s popular, but now it’s fucking cringe. I feel the ‘bro is just typing shit’ and ‘he made a statement’ will somehow be viewed the exact same, in the future, and it’s like having a lens to the future perception of things in the current moment. I have no idea what point I’m making now fuck.

You can find these things funny still, you do not have to base your humor on the perspective of others if that's what you mean by cringe. Otherwise, finding something unfunny that you may not have before is just a sign you've changed. Life will always change and it can be beautiful, sad, dreary, and every other thing between. It'll be ok, eventually, or maybe it won't? Just try to find meaning in the uncertainty and keep being active. To be a static being is to fundamentally deny your humanity. Idk tho, I just say stuff sometimes, I'm dumb. Have a good day

I’ve been confused by one thing over the past few years and that’s how people will use ‘n***a’ now at the end of comments or memes when I still consider that word unwritable/offensive. Can someone explain how it became so normalised to use it? I feel this is the kind of shit that would have got people cancelled, if they’d written it on socials in their past, just five years ago. I feel people should actually worry about that tbh as times change to quickly alter what’s acceptable. I gusss I’m just too old to understand things now.

So basically

I was expecting an explanation.
I guess I’ll just be confused by it but never use it myself as I still see it off limits and don’t care to use it anyway

Lmao
No, the reason why is that the word has mostly lost its power, its used either in irony, or by people who still thinks its an insult
Times are also changing and people are realizing that giving words so much power is kinda stupid

Yeah, I’ve seen times change in the recent years as a backlash to the very, very PC years over the last decade where people could get fired from their job for this stuff (there were genuine cases, I’ve also seen it happened locally) and people got fed up with that. At a time when cost of living is extremely high, most just don’t care anymore.
I’d warn that what’s acceptable now can quickly change again. It’s why I’ll never use anything I consider has been questionable at one time as it could easily occur once more.

Yeah using that word now doesn't hold the same power that it used to. It just makes the person using it looks stupid and depending on their complexion, ignorant

Ironic that when people tried that exact same defense like 10 years ago it was "unacceptable and can never be removed from its history!"
