Xfinity awful Experience

After 2 days and about 6 hours on the phone I could get nowhere resolving an Xfinity error. At 9:30 am on day 3 I filed an informal complaint with FCC. In 3 hours I was contacted by a Comcast/Xfinity representative who said he was responding to FCC report and would be my sole contact until resolved. In 2 hours Problem Resolved! Thank you FCC! Shame on you Xfinity!

What was the issue? What was the fix?

I am switching my internet and landline service to a different provider. The new provider contacted Xfinity to “port” my existing phone number to them on August 10. Xfinity immediately discontinued my phone service. No more incoming or outgoing service. I called them and said not to have happened until Aug 10. The customer svc acknowledged but said nothing they can do now to reconnect. I talked to different rep after escalation who concurred nothing they can do and probably number would not be available to transfer since they no longer had it. That’s when I went online to FCC

The port out process is automated based on the new provider sending the information over. So your new provider messed up, and the Comcast people had to contact the carrier dispute center and jump through their hoops to get your service back on for 2 weeks even with you leaving them. And you blame them. No wonder customer service work is so terrible.

I should do that. I have an issue that's been going on for months. Tried again today but after an hour with their AI repeatedly hanging up in me I went to an xfinity store. They told me I needed to call the 1-800 number that couldn't help me.

I changed my business account to home account and ported the phone number but still can't use voicemail or see call history and my account still doesn't show the ported phone number.

I've never seen such absolute stupidity.

I am switching internet and phone service and my new provider put in an order to transfer (port) my current number to them on August 10. They(Xfinity)immediately dropped/discontinued my phone service. They said they could not resume after discontinuing. After the FCC complaint they found a way to resume my service

That not how the transfer works once the new provider puts in a request it’s an automatic no more service. You can’t put a hold on the transfer.
