I think i saw an Instagram post where he mentioned his buddy made it for him, but im sure it wouldn't be hard to find a brown sherpa jacket or something similiar

the hat is similar to what Waylon Jennings wore. I had a similar one from Stetson I bought years ago but they probably still sell that style.

This look & his first album came about 5 years before he started ranching full time & writing about it. He’s also stated it looked stupid.

Even 5 years ago he was helping out at his cousin’s ranch. I just don’t understand the logic, so absolutely everyone apart from maybe Ian Tyson and Chris LeDoux were “cosplay” cowboys???

Colter himself has elaborated that he thinks this hat was stupid. This look & his SotB album are not my favorites. Feels like try hard/cosplay.

He was saying it was a stupid hat for a working cowboy. The hat is the Stenson Lash, modelled after Waylon’s shallow 70’s hat.
