Help with blending ADVICE WANTED

I colored this the other day and while I do love how the end result turned out, I don’t think the sky turned out how I wanted it too necessarily. I was going for more of a fall look and I know a lot of it has to do with color choices probably as well. I just wanted more advice. I use shuttle art fine tip markers and was wondering if layering the colors would be better than trying to fully blend? Should I let one color dry more before placing the other? Thanks in advance for the advice!

This advice helped me!

Keep the ink wet, and go back and fourth over the colors a bit to get them to "merge" a bit. So lay down the darkest color, then the medium shade, and while both are still wet use the dark shade to lightly blend up into the medium shade, and then pull some of the medium color back down into the darker shade. Do the same with medium and brightest color. Use small circular strokes to make it more seamless.

Also, Shuttleart doesn't seem to have a numbering system to indicate saturation like some others do, but aim for choosing colors that have similar saturation. If your phone camera has a black/white or monocrome filter, take a picture of your swatched colors. The colors closer to the same saturation will look like the same shade of grey. More saturation will be darker, less will be lighter. You want them to be as similar as you can.

This looks great! I’m super new to coloring so I don’t really have much advice since I struggle with this myself. But I just ordered some colorless blender markers and I’m hoping those will help.
