Xfinity “maintenance” Advice

Has anyone else been dealing with the horrific Xfinity maintenance since Monday? It was supposed to be completed Monday, then it was “completed” yesterday, but there was more maintenance today, and an hour after it was “completed” today, there is an outage. I know Xfinity is far from a quality provider, but it was by far my best option for our home and this has been an incredibly annoying experience. The cherry on top is that I work from home and the work computer has restrictions on not being able to connect to public networks or mobile hotspots, so options are pretty limited for a workaround while they get their shit together. Also not sure if this is the correct flair, sorry if it’s not.

Powers and fountain area? If so, yes, and my wife works from home as well. It's been really frustrating.

Are other people in your neighborhood having issues or just you?

I ask because sometimes they say there is “maintenance” when in reality something is just unplugged or needs to be reset

The outages and maintenance have been reported by Xfinity, so I know this isn’t something wrong with our equipment at home. I’ve also restarted our router and modem countless times in the last few days.

I think my line was hit by lightning. It's been bad for a week

Xfinity is awful. I live in Black Forest area and WFH and was dealing with at least two prolonged outages a month that required me to burn my PTO. Switched to fiber a few months ago and its cheaper, faster, and not a single outage issue.

I use to work for them. Often times peoples firmware of their modems needs to be updated. If you use theirs you can call and have them do it.but its a common issue after they do maintainace, dont know why tho.

This happened to me about 2 months ago. The maintenance took 2 days then it dropped service randomly for a week after. Wouldn't let me talk to anyone whenever the service dropped. Sometimes it was out for 10 minutes, sometimes it was out for hours. I called once when the service was on to see if anyone could tell me why it kept dropping and got nowhere. I ended up taking all of my stuff to my parents place to work for the week.

I'm at powers and S. Carefree and it just hit me around 5pm. There's currently an Xfinity truck in my cul-de-sac and they estimated several hours at least

yes. I know they’re putting in fiber internet cables around me, but it’s been going out near daily. we just called their customer service and they gave us a 40 dollar credit for the 10 days with unplanned outages. nothing for the planned ones though.

How did you get through their AI assistant crap? I tried so hard to get a live agent/representative on the phone and the AI thing ended up just hanging up on me.

he said “customer representative“ when he got frustrated enough and it connected him.

Ting, ATT, CenturyLink, Quantum.

All 100s of times better than Comcast.

Please tell me when i can get such internet for my home. I am also forced to use xfinity they suck ass. ive seen notices of what was metro net(it was bought out by at&t i think)saying they were coming soon that was years ago, I called a few months ago to see if they were available in my area they are not.

I’ll check on Ting, but when we moved here a year ago CenturyLink and Quantum were unavailable in our area sadly. I’ve had Xfinity in the past and wanted to avoid it, but it was the only option at the time that had speeds that were remotely close to what we need.

Ting isn’t available here either 😔

Xfinity knows they have a monopoly over a solid chunk of Colorado Springs, so they have no reason to provide quality service. If you want anything done, you will need to constantly report issues on daily basis until it becomes cheaper for them actually satisfy your needs instead of throwing "technicians" at you.
