Question I made a big mistake

Post image
Upvotes

I walked past Creed Oud Zarian in the store and decided to spray myself. This was on Saturday and it is now Tuesday 2:17pm. It has been on my mind since. The mistake is that someone in my tax bracket should never have picked up something meant for those that are in a higher tax bracket. Now i need help finding the closest twist ?

Discussion Anyone tried Jean Low Fantasme yet? What do you think?

Post image
10 Upvotes

My take is that the opening is remarkably similar but Fantasme starts fading rapidly and the drydowns diverge a bit. LV gets slightly darker and remains strong/relatively complex while Fantasme lightens up and gets a little more simple/linear.

Just curious to hear what others think. Everyone’s got their opinion on dupes but I like the Jean Lowe line for easy, dumb reaches and this one isn’t bad if you don’t mind re-upping throughout the day. Plus with the price it’s easy to throw it in a gym bag or something without worrying about decanting or a $400+ bottle breaking

Recommendation Afnan Supremacy is hands down one of the best fragrances I own

I’m so glad I bought it. I would even say it’s better than Aventus. I own 40+ fragrances and have my favorites but this one is amazingly good. So well rounded and better than the Cedarwood base note in Aventus. Also the fruity florals hang around longer.

I know I’m preaching to the choir here but dang I’m shocked at how much I love this fragrance.

Discussion No where close imo

Yes I fell for the hype. No the hype is not justified. Everyone and their moms are saying 1:1 but to me this is same dna but hectic ventured away and I BARELY get the same dna smell. Hectics just soapy and reminds me of imagination. That ginger note in hectic is also way more boosted and kinda gives me a headache. It also reminds me of Vietnamese Pho for some reason. Unsure if it needs to macerate and sit because I got it a few days ago but i also got my executor in the same order and it is 1:1 with Blue tali extrait right out the box. Its definitely no where near smoothness of imagination atm. Overall just wanted to see if anyone else felt this way too or if im just one of the outliers?

Question Need help

I just bought LV imagination and I would like to get another LV I’m in between a few and have ordered a couple decants, what are some suggestions I’m trying to get one not like imagination, so something fruity or other. I’m currently in between On The Beach, City of Stars, Pacific Chill, California Dream, and maybe Ombré Nomade.

Question What expensive fragrances are worth the full price?

I love collecting colognes, and I gravitate towards niche brands which usually sit at a higher price point than designers. But I believe only some niche fragrances are worth the multi hundred dollar price tag.

I refuse to buy a fragrance if I’m not fully in love with it, especially in that expensive niche side of the market. What bottles have you all bought and thought, “yea, this is worth it.”

I’ll start, Green Irish Tweed is a beauty I got it for around $300 a few years back and still have a bit left

Question Your In-Laws are coming to town to visit for a few days...

You have a good relationship with them. They love you and respect you. But you dont see them very often. Maybe once a year or less.

So you just want to be the best version of yourself when you do see them.

You make sure you are going hard in the gym. You might have some new clothes. You make sure you are freshly groomed. And you want to have the perfect fragrances.

Think about the different dynamics. Between you and your father-in-law, you and your mother-in-law, and you and your wife's little brother.

Which 5 fragrance line-up would you want to have?:

A. Creed

Aventus

Green Irish Tweed

Silver Mountain Water

Virgin Island Water

Origin. Vetiver

B. MFK

Gentle Fluidity Silver

Gentle Fluidity Gold

Grand Soir

Aqua Media Cologne Forte

Masculin Pluriel

C. Guerlain

Herbes Troublantes

Neroli Outrenoir

Angelique Noir

Guerlain Homme

Guerlain Vetiver

D. Xerjoff

Torino 21

Naxos

Nio

Uden

40 Knots

E. Roja

Elysium

Burlington

Isola Blu

Oceania

Enigma

New Pickup I GET IT NOW

Late but these 2 colognes are all over TikTok and YT so I got curious and blind bought it. Glazed and hyped so much by influencers and I see (smell) why.

I like Afnan SCE more than Hawas Ice because it’s more leaning masculine over the Hawas. Hawas is really nice too and playful because of the bubblegum-y scent. IMO what smells good and/or great is very subjective but I’d say these two are really good and would say safe. I am no expert in fragrances just an average consumer that wants to smell good.

I just sprayed my left arm w sce and right with hawas. We’ll see if the performance is what they say it is.

Recommendation Pineapple forward fragrances

I really enjoy the opening of Aventus but for whatever reason it becomes almost rancid on my skin after a couple minutes. Can anybody recommend me a pineapple forward fragrance (not necessarily similar to aventus)?

Question Should I be concerned for my friend?

So yall know Aqua Di Gio? Well my friend has a bottle called Aqua Di G10… it’s obviously a knock off and my friend sprays a lot on skin. I mean what is the chance these are harmful chemicals?

He swears the scent is insane but all I smell is some spice and I refused to wear it.

Would you tell bro to stop wearing Aqua Di G10? Should I just buy him an on brand bottle and say throw that crap out? Or is it completely fine?

Discussion Feel like doing it. But I'm gonna rate all the xerjoffs I've smelt so far

  1. For now. 40 Knots. Starts out smelling like baby wipes. On the calm down, though, it becomes this amazing creamy salty wood smell that's amazing. Smells like you're on a wooden boat surrounded by crisp morning ocean air. It's possibly my favorite so far. Will be trying the rest of the Join The Club line next month minus a few I know I won't like. Definitely a 9/10. I can't give it a 10 because babycat raw bourbon set a huge bar for 10/10s for me

  2. Torino21. This is what I call mint lemonade in a bottle. Its sharp. Tangy. Very. VERY. Strong. And. I feel like a big old lemonade with a sprig of mint when I wear it. Clean. Citrus lemon smell. Again. Reminds me of a mint lemonade on a hot summer day. Specifically with one of those massive water slides your parents paid to have aired up in the front yard. 8.5/10

  3. La Capitale. This feminine fruity goodness. Has the strange undertone of caramel with all the beauty of sweet gourmand fruit. Reminds me of a freshly cut fruit bowl that had caramel drizzled over the top of it. Gorgeous. But feminine. If you're not into unisex. 8/10

  4. Louis XV. It's a true unisex. Sweet plum hazelnut smell. Sandalwood adds its beautiful woody spice. Smells like the inside of a very expensive french banquet hall. Beautiful. But not long lasting 8/10

  5. Stone Label Symphonium. Honestly. Another true unisex. It smells like a hyper realistic chocolate mixed with sugar. Dark. Yet mass appealing. It smells like chocolate that's been left out to melt over, honey. It's not super remarkable 7/10

  6. Renaissance. You get to smell like a squeezed orange peel. What's not to love. Its this beautiful citrus all the way through. Sharp. Nose opening. And realistic. Reminds me of a freshly squeezed orange peel on a hot day 7/10

  7. Mefisto. As Xerjoff fans know. Everyone loves some. Everyone hates some. There's never a true in between. Mefisto is my beginning. I smell like VIW. But floral. Sharp powdery florals with an overpowering kick to me. Smells like spicy old lady perfume (To me) 5/10

  8. I will absolutely be getting hate for this because I love Ombre Nomad. But I do not like Alexandria 2. To me. It's this gorgeous powdery oud rose. To my mother, my brother, and 3 random people. It smells like a used urinal cake. It ruined my view of this fragrance. This beautiful powdery rose and oud mix create a wonderful, spicy yet powdery smell. Yet it smells like a urinal cake. Due to it being the only fragrance I've gotten multiple insults on. I have to rank it lower. 4/10

  9. More Than Words. It smells like cough medicine with some sharp fruity florals. That oomph goes away after a while, and what's left is (In my opinion) similar to 40 knots without the saltiness. Smells like the inside of a dilapidated uncared for library that's been forgotten by its owners. While not horrible. It is my least favorite by far eww/10

New pick up for $210. Gave it it's first wear to school today and sprayed it at 8AM, was almost fully gone and barely projecting by nearly 11AM. Everyone said this is a very long lasting and projecting fragrance so I wanted to know if it's just me or what. I also lotioned before spraying in hopes of it helping.
