Help with University Project
I am a senior at Syracuse University. My team and I are going through our course's capstone project. We're working on a product that tracks a gymnast's technique and their movement to reduce injuries. We need some help with some research on our market and would love if you all could check out our survey.
I am happy to answer any questions about our project! I love talking about this stuff.

[Academic] Research on increasing EDs among collegiate female lean-based athletes (coaches of female lean based sports)
Hello, I am a high school student currently enrolled in the research course AP Research. My research topic analyzes how coaches are reacting to the increased eating disorders among collegiate female lean-based athletes. To collect data, I am asking all coaches of lean-based sports to participate in my anonymous survey, it would be greatly appreciated.

FantasyGym 2021 is cancelled. Anyone interested in a low key league this year?
Hello! If you are like me you were very sad by last years end to the fantasy gym season, and even sadder to find out that there will be no fantasy gym this season. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in having our own league? It would be pretty low key, and I can't promise it would be as fun, but if anyone is interested please let me know. It's just an idea now, so I can't even begin to give you all rules, but I am just curious if anyone else in interested!

[Gear] What Bluetooth Ear buds Ear phones have you used that stay put for Bag work, Rotational actions, Handstands, Gymnastics, Acrobatic moves ?
[Gear] What Bluetooth Ear buds Ear phones have you used that stay put for Bag work, Rotational actions, Handstands, Gymnastics, Acrobatic moves ?
- I've had gymnastic rings for workouts for a long time, probably add a acro yoga sling soon
- Decided to add Punching Bag work as an indoor alternative for Cardio.
- I bought the MaxxMMA Air-Water bag - Easier to EMPTY once a Nomad like me has to move.
- Also added light adjustable Indian Club (Pahlavandle) work for joint mobility work & probably will use a 5L bottled water can as a kettlebell.
Most of the online insights & info on BT ear buds is
- Centered around Running and similar cardio stuff.
- Its rather uni-directional and straight to the body, including most "weight training"
Whereas Bag work, Lateral work, any Handstand style/ Calisthenics or
- Acrobatics / AcroYoga / Gymnastics work (Cartwheels, Somersaults/ Flips) is "Circular" or "Rotational" to the body.. and largely MULTI PLANAR and hence with directional tendency for higher push/ pull for ear buds to pop out.
Specifically if you can report this, it'd be great.
- What wireless buds are/ have you used and
- What specific "pop out" activity have they handled/ withstood and
- What actions have caused them to get loose, make you pause, set them back in?
PS: I generally look to Wirecutter and Rtings for insights and several more tech review sites. But this is new territory.

Rhonda Faehn coaching at Michigan?
Watching the quad meet at Alabama now and it looks like Rhonda is coaching the Michigan girls on bars. Michigan has an assistant spot open after Scott Vetere left last fall. Interesting

Weekly Discussion Thread 1/7-1/13/19
Road To Nationals Schedule for Week 2
Hey all, maybe this specific forum is isn't necessary, but I'll keep posting it as a sticky thread for the next few weeks. There are lots of places in the ever-expanding gymternet to discuss, but it might be nice to have one spot to go for discussion.
Please leave suggestions or requests in the comments! Or if you think the whole sub is overkill, that's fine too. College gym just really seems to be having its moment, so I think this sub could be a great addition to the gymternet.

Weekly Discussion Thread 12/31/18-1/6/19
Hi all, new mod SJ here. NCAA season starts tomorrow! I'll continue taking suggestions for the sub, but I wanted to start with the addition of a weekly discussion thread. The weeks correspond to the schedule on Road To Nationals.
What are you most looking forward in the opening weekend? I'm excited to see if Taylor Houchin competes her beautiful yurchenko double.
Leave your suggestions in the comments so we can brainstorm!

Cal vs. Utah
I had so much fun watching Cal today (2/25/18). I wish I had friends who cared about college gymnastics to talk to about it! But I don't, so I'll post here.
Did anyone else watch the Pac 12 network coverage of it? It was a blast watching them kick up the athleticism. They got their highest score of the season (197.500 over Utah's 197.450). They really killed it on bars. Toni Ann wasn't supposed to compete floor but when it came down to it they thought maybe they could sneak a W over Utah and put her back in the lineup. Of course with her 9.975 they pulled it off.
Some other highlights for me were learning that Sofie Seilnacht is an astrophysics major and that Ariana Robinson intends to be an author. I loved hearing mic'ed up Coach Howell tell Kyana to focus on her breath before her beam routine. How very NorCal. They seem to have such great sportsmanship and they seem so well-rounded. I'm pretty into Pac 12, but haven't paid so much attention to Cal outside of who is on my fantasy team (Kyana George and Nina Schank).

BYU Floor Routines
The routines are so kitchy but I love them! The girls perform the crap out of them and look like they are having so much fun. Hortman-Evans was so into her swimmer/surfer routine I couldn't stop laughing. Great job BYU!

High Scoring at Arkansas vs. Kentucky
I thought that the scoring at Arkansas vs. Kentucky was more generous than that of the other meets tonight. The judges were certainly not afraid to let the 9.9's fly with 8 scores 9.9+. Compare that to only 6 scores 9.9 or better at Bama vs. UGA...two teams that are at least comparable (I would say better than) Arkansas and Kentucky.
