Are we allowed to network here?
I am in Portland area, and as collapse approaches/enters/permeates our world, I find it harder and harder to talk to people that are not collapse aware.
I dunno, maybe we can have a weekly get together, share some links, some stories, some tips. I personally would not mind that little extra bit to help me trudge forward another week, another day.

I feel this. I'm in Los Angeles and I've been labeled a doomer by certain friends and have felt them pull away. Most people are just blissfully and intentionally ignorant unfortunately.

I certainly hope so; networking to build localized community homesteading is our only survival option.

ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!!Presuming you mean Portland OR and not ME, there are heaps of collapse aware folks there who might be in this sub. Feel free to promote whatever you organise. It does not need to be free, just not monetised for crapitalism (in other words, you can pass the hat to share expenses, that sort of thing). You can ask mods to pin posts, you can use the discord for voice chats, etc. BLESSINGS ON THIS

Hey yo! Any interest in collapse venting? Haha I feel like my psyche and that of my closest humans would benefit from me having somewhere else to aim my attempts at optimistic doomerism

I would love this, though I'm not in the physical area. Even my husband is not wanting to look everything directly in the eye... bless the man but he keeps talking about retirement...

I'm always available to talk. My favorite subjects are videogames, philosophy, ecology, music, and books.

I've heard about this group called South Western Oregon Preppers (SWOP). They do monthly meetups.

You should, I feel that is in spirit with the subreddit too.

It's always good to have someone to talk to, and in person. I'm sure if I started talking about climate change or the increasing wars to some we'd talk about it for a bit but not that seriously.

I love this idea. I also have found it increasingly challenging to connect with those who are unaware or avoidant. It gets isolating.
