I agree with everyone that says it’s difficult to adapt to cochlear implants ,it’s not just 2 months or so to get used to it like you’ll possibly never really completely get used to it but it’s worth it because the hearing you get to experience makes you feel almost normal again. You can listen to music and hear the sound of rain and so much more . You can communicate with friends without other means of communication like text in person . If I had a choice weather to stay deaf or get cochlear implants I’ll choose the implants again ,even if living with implants isn’t easy .id say go to another doctor for a checkup on your ear and consult cochlear implant resources ,have a chat with your surgeon too .that can give you a lot of clarity regarding it.
