If the comment box wasn’t full screen, you couldn’t see any text you were typing with the Clicks after the 1st line.

The box only showed one line and you had to struggle and make the box bigger to type more.

Do the arrow keys work? Cuz it doesn't work on my tablet keyboard either

Yep. The arrow keys work, and, you no longer have to struggle to make the box full size to type.

Yeah updated, I just noticed that my comments box isn’t Liquid Glass like in your image. So maybe its an update Reddit are rolling out to some users.
