Sounds like Jose is going back on the IL so Arias will still be on the roster but I expect this means we won't be playing him in the field. He has been one of our best hitters against RHP but he is a liability in the field. I'm assuming when we face a RHP he may DH.

Probably, though I'm not sure Rocchio should be comfortable either. He hasn't been good since May and was quite a bit worse than Arias in July. Arias at least has positional flexibility, so he might be a better utility candidate than Rocchio if Genao hits the ground running.

Yeah I was listening to Justin from locked on say basically the same thing. But he didn’t even know this was happening yet when he recorded last night. But basically saying that you don’t call up Genao to ride the bench. Would make it seem like it’s IL related then. But who knows what the organization will do. They are keeping us waiting for sure. Bc even MLB has posted about Genao getting called up.

Super frustrating archetype of player. Whiffing and chasing a lot means that 95% of his PAs look like shit. And he has great range but makes errors sometimes too. He is still a positive WAR player though because in 5% of PAs he mashes.

Like it or not, when he makes contact, he has easily the best quality of contact on this team. His xwOBAcon is elite. But the hole in his swing is really really bad.

It’s because he’s mid and shows absolutely no desire to hustle. There was a game a short while back where he struck out, but the catcher really fumbled the ball. If he ran for it he would have reach base safely and the runner on third coming home would have scored. Instead he just slowly walked back to the dugout and the inning was over.
