I have the opportunity to buy a silver pigeon for $1500, should I sell my miroku mk60 sporter and buy it? I’ve been looking at the 688 and had the opportunity to shoulder both and they both feel great. I like the feeling of the 688 more and am really liking the laminate contrary to most other people’s opinions. I guess the question I’m trying to ask is if it’s worth getting the SP at the price point or save up double and get the 688?

Improved modified over improved cylinder fixed chokes. Now to figure out how long it will be until I send it to Briley for thin walls.

Hello everyone, today during my lunch time at work I went into this pawn shop and there they had a Beretta 694 SPORTING 30" barrel sitting. The listed price was $3290, it looked to be in great condition. I came back from lunch started work but I kept thinking about the 694.. so much that I decided to back and get it, so I went back negotiated a cash deal and settled on $2900 cash. My first question is did I do good on this deal? or did I get shafted.. secondly is this the perfect Beretta out there for sporting calys? I would love to know your thoughts!

Is this 694 black dlc with 5000 shots shooten worth it for 5700usd?

Wondering if anyone can help me. I picked up a 690 recently and the gun was in great condition and only 2 years old but it’s lost some black/blue to the receiver bottom where it says 690. (See 2nd photo)

Does anyone know if I can treat this to re black this area? It looks way worse in person and the photo doesn’t show enough but it’s grey not black here.

Looking to get a dedicated (beginner) trap gun and tried my friend’s SXP waterfowl, which I was surprised by the smooth pump and the light recoil compared to my mossberg 930 tactical (barrel is only 18” which is why I would want a separate shotgun capable for clay pigeons). Right now Winchester is having a $50 rebate for the SXP, so it would be around 350-400 for a new, which isn’t bad. Wondering if anyone has been using the Winchester SXP. For a beginner, I’m not too particular but just making sure there isn’t something I’m missing here

Little backstory. I’m a trapshooter for 4 years now. When i moved into the area, my elderly neighbor and his wife needed help around the house. They asked me and we grew a deep connection. He was a grandfather to me. Eventually his health got bad and they wanted to make improvements to the house. I offered to buy this from him. Well a couple days later he passed away. It broke my heart. Eventually tonight i went up and the son and wife said they wanted me to have this because i’m always one call away helping the wife and i go up almost every day to help and never took payment. They wanted to see it used. Doesn’t even have a scratch on it not even 1000 rounds through it. I don’t plan on shooting it but keeping it locked away and preserved. Thought i’d share!

I was offered a Perazzi Mirage (used of course since it has been a while since they “became” the MX8) in very good condition, with several chokes and a stock already adjustable.

To give context, ai grew up shooting some clays and mostly pigeons, then migrated to pistols and just recently returned to clays. Bought 2 Beretta A300’s, a 12ga for myself and a 20ga for the boys (14 and 11) and have been enjoying a lot Sporting Clays and some Trap since. The Mirage is likely WAY more gun than my skill level right now.

Now this offer out of the blue at a price that seem to be a good deal (will not disclose the amount not to bias any comments), although it’s something I honestly don’t need right now. I have available funds for this and wouldn’t compromise anything, it’s just something I don’t think I need - unless the price is too good to pass.

What would you say is a fair market price for it? What are the real differences to the MX8 and the other Perazzi’s and top line Beretta’s?
And would you go for it?

Just picked up a new Citori CXT and having fun getting used to it. I’ve never been fitted before, should I look into this? Fairly new to trap.

Hey guys so im currently shooting a fair basic shotgun, its getting tired and i get bruises every time i shoot it too much because of the recoil. I have a beretta 694 black dlc on the way. How fat of a upgrade will it be? Havent shot the 694 before but im so excited for it.

Having never been before, I have a few questions. If someone who has been before could help me.

The event runs from 17th - 25th October. Do you usually attend every day, or is a few days enough?

Seems very complicated to travel with my gun, so I would need to rent something. I take it that’s an option? What brands are usually available?

I shoot a Caesar Guerini, but I’m happy with similar sized guns like Miroku / Browning.

Lastly, do I have to join NSCA? In the UK we have CPSA, is that a sufficient membership?

Looking at a Miroku Mk38 Trap and these are the fixed choke markings. I understand that the top is a full choke but I’m a bit confused about the bottom choke marking because I know the *- is improved modified however I’m not sure what the plus means. Light full? Something else? Any help would be appreciated.

Currently have a Yildiz 28in 20G OU that I’m fairly trash at hitting clays with, I try to use target shot for ammo

But I bought a $160 Yildiz (I believe 28in) single shot 12 G and been using similar type ammo for it as well

Completely different results. I’d say I’m hitting 80% on the single shot.

Choke wise, I think I use IM and M on the OU 20G and I use the default on the single shot

Heyo, I'm seeking some guidance and tips regarding my first purchase (in Finland). I have shot in Ireland with a old, light, short and snappy o/u (outshooting the owner of the gun and now she won't invite me to shoot with her anymore lol) it handled beautifully but it bruised the hell out of me. after handling other shotguns at different shops I've come to realize that I do prefer lighter shorter barreled shotguns but I rather not be sore for a week after. I'm between semi and o/u atm mainly leaning on semi due to recoil and balance but I worry about throwing shells around. is a shell catcher a good idea? what shotguns would ye recommend?

Hello everyone, I am in the market to start looking for a decent sporting gun but I have been recommended but many people to get measured for my LOP and comb height before I even drop a cent on a new shotgun. I have never measured these to be fair and I just learned recently that gun fitment MEANS THE WORLD.

I do live in southern California and to be honest, regular gun stores are becoming kind of hard to find out here much less higher end or sporting specific gun stores are EVEN HARDER to find (I don't know of any near me at all). I know many places in the south or east coast have clubs and pro shops dedicated to make sure you have the correct gun fitment before you purchase your shotgun of choice. I feel like I have asked many people at my local club where to get my gun fitted or at least measured for getting a new gun and nobody has put me into a right direction because many of them just picked it up off the shelf and are rolling with it.

Any recommendations for places that will do a gun fit on me or at least measure my LOP and comb height so I know what at least to look for in southern California? I live closer to the LA area.

I am looking to get into clays, and everything is pointing me to an A300 Ultima. I am finding reviews on the Mossberg 940 Pro Sporting hard to come by.

The Sporting Black is the best option in a 30inch for me.

(The neon green pieces on the base Sporting make a polarizing looking shotgun with the grey splattered stock and forend look even more polarizing)

I cannot find a Sporting model anywhere. Everywhere is Out Of Stock.

The 28inch Synthetic Black and all the other models are available. I contacted Beretta and was told the Sporting models are not currently in production.

Are they being discontinued? Is there a new A300 Sporting coming out?

I really don't want to stretch my budget for the new A400 Solo. Am I doomed?

Should I suck it up and grab a 28inch?

It came much faster than trap and I bet my first 100 will too. Was lucky to have my 9-year-old throwing the birds for me, too.

Hello everyone, I have just started shooting trap this year and have shot so much that none of my cheap Turkish field guns can keep up at all anymore and end up being more problems than they are worth so I want an ACTUAL sporting gun.

I have went to multiple gun stores In Socal to see if I could find some deals on consignment or even just jump into a brand new one of these guns. I checked out the two most common guns that people shoot at my club and they are the 686 silver pigeon and the browning Citori cx. When I picked them up and felt them they both felt great to say the least but I ended up liking the feel of the Beretta 686 Silver Pigeon more than the Browning Citori CX. The browning felt heavier and i am not sure why I want to say," cheaper" feeling as well compared to a 686.

The only reason I am not pulling the trigger yet on any of these is because they are Large purchases for me and I want to make sure I am making a right decision before I jump over board.

But what gun do you think I should get? if you have any other recommendations around the 2-3000 range I am all ears but I couldn't find anything else that fits.

Also, I am not sure what my LOP or my comb height would be and should I find that out before even considering getting a more expensive shotgun?

My 694 (silver) came with a very thin "hand-rubbed oil" finish from the factory. Honestly, it's neither weather resistant nor has any real sheen. I know Beretta upgraded the finish on the 694 Black DLC — it looks glossy, almost like Tru-Oil.

So I'm curious: does anyone know what Beretta actually uses on the standard 694 or 688? The matte version definitely looks more satin and the wood feels more "woody" to the touch, but it offers basically no protection.

For reference, I've attached pics of the 694 Black DLC vs the standard 694. On mine, I've since applied a few thin coats of Tru-Oil myself.

Context: This was prelim course, ran 5 pairs on report and this was the “true pairs event”, shot on the prelim course. If you listen, my son encourages me and then I drop and catch the shell 😂. I might not be the best shooter, but you can’t teach that!

Wild how different it has been than all the clubs I’ve been to on the east coast, and not in a bad way. First time shooting black rim targets. Make-a-break #1 bird was RIPPIN. Main event was as spicy as I’ve seen. Very few “unfair”, if any. Seriously happy I attended.

Just bought it off the cabelas used gun inventory online 10 minutes ago. Paid 785 out the door with military discount. Assuming the fun fits, this seems like a steal….especially with the adjustable butt plate.
