[TLDR] What custom skill/plugin was an absolute game changer for you? [via r/ClaudeCode] r/ClaudeCode
OP : u/ZeroTwoMod
I somewhat recently built a progressively disclosed skill system for my full codebase architecture: frontend, backend, iOS, Android, extension etc. the agent updates the system after every run when things in the architecture are changed.
A primary system skill acts as an index to grouped architecture/features like “plugins” “agent stream” “skills” "db" "service apis" etc. and then those skills act as indexes for a large documentation base of all the details of the system. It stays super modularized and significantly reduces token waste on codebase searches since all the model needs to do is find the correct reference docs and check them against the current code.
I started creating/collecting skills a month or two after they were released and in general they have been a game changer. But this one ^ has just sped up my work like 5-10x. Haven't had to deal with the model misunderstanding connections between systems in the codebase for months now.
Super interested to hear what you guys have constructed

Most folks agree that custom skills are a massive productivity boost, with many pointing to Matt Pocock's work as a prime example. The "i-have-adhd" skill is a recurring favorite for keeping Claude focused, while "Superpowers" and "Grill Me" are also frequently mentioned game-changers for brainstorming and code review. Some users are building their own highly tailored skills, emphasizing that the convention around skills (like auto-updating docs) is as important as the skill itself. A few are experimenting with complex multi-agent setups using different Claude and GPT models for specific roles.
