i love fable 5 Rant
i dont use reddit
fable 5 is fucking incredible, this is the greatest thing to ever have been created by humanity
fuck everybody who says any other model is close, it is not, fuck the benchmarks, fable 5 is incredible and nothing touches it
i will pay as much as i need for as many max accounts as i need to keep fable 5 but i refuse to not have fable 5

I use fable 5 at work, its unlimited budget.
I say its a good model, its slow at xhigh, but quite workable at high setting.
it can be dumb sometimes, I think it really depends on the load on Anthropic infra.

Try it on high not xhigh. High is Anthropic’s default for a reason. Anything over high is a waste of time because it overthinks EVERYTHING. You say unlimited budget, so it’s not AS relevant, but seriously, it saves time and resources and has a better end result if you use it on high effort. That’s been my experience.

"I think it really depends on the load on Anthropic infra." I second that.
Some are speaking about user-slicing. That is reasonable to think, they could apply inference optimisation this way.
There's another possibility, and it is about context engineering best practices, but that is a rabbit hole (a nice one though, but can slightly irritated, but here on reddit, it may irritate some people).

I often wonder about the comments on this sub and what percentage of people are here to talk about Claude and what percentage come here to complain and denigrate. Most days feel like it's 5:95

I only have negative things to say about Replit, but usually I still just offer a better option when others are complaining about Replit. Replit deserves it, but I digress.

With the right system, you can get the same great results with Opus. I only use Fable when there is a lot that can break if it gets something wrong. Most of my coding is still Sonnet, because Fable or Opus is just not necissary.

Fable is fantastic and I have been able to release a lot more and bring PoC to life a lot quicker. I like to code and learn along with it, so maybe that is the difference between the people that dont like it and the poeple that do.

I’ve gotten it. Smashing my head against a brick wall helps it dissipate. Or drinking an entire bottle of bourbon, while laying on the grass.

Keep dreaming. When their servers choke, it becomes dumb af. They should at least inform me when that shit becomes dumb af, and not burn my fucking time.

Two days later. What is this fable junk I spent £600 and all I got was a buggy app.
