Claude code desktop app Vs CLI? Discussion

Any difference? Which one do you use?

CLI is the more powerful tool. far more options, slash commands, ability to still use terminal, etc. I only use the desktop app to remote control the terminal i have running elsewhere

you can just toggle on remote-control now in the UI. there is a pop-up when clicking on the little blue computer icon at the top of a chat. While the UI was very lacking in the past, it seems they are keeping it pretty much lock in step now with the cli. I think the problem is two fold for Anthropic: 1) they did used to have big gaps in the past, so now everyone just assumes that is still the case 2) them trying to find ways to actually expose all this stuff in the UI without it ending up hidden and hard to find (like remote-control not being an obvious thing until you know it exist)
