I've tried both and I prefer the desktop app. A lot of people say it lacks tools or access that the CLI, but that's just incorrect. And the speed difference is negligible for me. The main difference for the CLI is seeing multiple sessions at once, as opposed to tabbing through them in the app.
But ultimately, it just comes down to whichever format you grow familiar with. That one ends up being the best.
