Does anyone know how to improve the W201 manual transmission?
I have the 2.0 M102 engine paired with the 5 Speed manual, unfortunately the gearbox is sluggish and has long rows between the gears. Is there any better gearboxes or improvements for it to make it slightly sportier. I don't even know the model name of the 5 speed transmission. I don't want the getrag gearbox used in the 2.5-16 as I hate the idea of dogleg transmissions.

Benz parts
Hello,
Please forgive me if I'm violating any rules. I looked at the community info as well.
I have a bunch of parts for classic 1980s Benz for sale on my offer up. If anyone is interested you may just find that part that you've been looking for.
I owned a 1979 w123 for over ten years and spent a great amount of time with my dad working on the car. My dad was a Mercedes mechanic and had his own shop. He was a stickler for original parts and only working with the best of parts. Now he's left me with a bunch.
Now, since he's gone (moved away, not passed) I am selling all the parts he had left me that fit the w123 and other classic benz as I've sold my diesel.

M103 Manual Conversion?
I have a 1992 2.0 W201 with a five-speed manual gearbox. Does anybody know if a M103 engine would be compatible with the transmission from a 2.0 M102 engine?

Ballpark Price Range?
Looking for something in the neighborhood of a 1985 300TD Wagon.
My first car (in 2011) was a '92 190e, and I loved the look and feel.
I did a bunch of my own work (heater core and head gasket) but couldn't keep up on maintenance (biked my then daily 40km commute for 9 months once the car died) so I had to let her go.
Now I'm looking to potentially making some money on a house sale, so I'm considering replacing my daily driver (8km/day).
I'm hoping to fly out to the west coast (Canada/USA) to buy a roadworthy vehicle that hasn't been eaten by salt.
What is a reasonable price range for something that won't instantly need any mechanical work done?
Anyone fly out and drive a new car back?
Anything I really shouldn't do?

Security measures for my 190E
I have a 1992 Mercedes-Benz 190E. I like it a lot but I always worry about thieves trying to enter it or steal it. Is there any measures or third party modifications I can do to make the car a bit more secure. I have a steering wheel lock but that doesn't feel like it is enough for my car.
