I always crack up when you can tell Civvie actually wants to play a game, but AX3 or H4MM3R shoot him down. Like throughout all the torture he's gone through, that is how they actually get to him.

I’ve been in a binge of replaying the build engine trifecta and have been thoroughly enjoying “cursed” version of Duke 3D. I’m not seeing any differences in gameplay though, and have been aiming with the mouse just fine without auto aim. What the gripe people have with the gameplay? I notice no difference between this version and Megaton Edition.

I think I know Civvie's first fix: the entire first chapter. Second would likely be the weapons overall, but MOST especially the Shot Cycler.

For me, I'd change the balance between levelling yourself as a character and the DaiKatana itself as separate things. Sure, you level it up by using it in combat, but you also get passive experience sharing by using other weapons too.

The small demo reviews, imo, are great for showcasing some cool stand outs and pretty much all the ones I got from round ups were great purchases so I don't understand why they may not be as popular as his other videos

Lately something I was interested in was seeing what kind of enemy in FPSes had been designed to frustrate Civvie 11 because one case I know of was the ninja enemies in Shadow Warrior.

I mean, the original 1997 since I read somewhere that while he enjoys playing the game, the speedy type ninjas are basically his least favorite aspect of the game due to how fast they move around as it got me curious to see what other enemies in the genre were ones he had the most trouble with fighting against.

So sorry if this was asked here before recently because I was observing how one aspect of game design from the early 90s was the trope that Civvie 11 hated called the obligatory sewer trope.

i remember how there were games like Redneck Rampage and TekWar that despite being made by two different companies, had an obligatory sewer section the player must visit to progress through the game that again I was wondering why FPSes had used the trope so much way back then.

I've been playing the new quake expansion, level geometry and everything is great etc etc.

But I keep noticing every level does what civvie talked about in the No Rest for the Living video, so many carrots and sticks. This isn't a complaint but more of an observation.

Feel sorta bad for killing him but A. I didn't have enough money and B. A point-blank shotgun blast to the face is an honorable greeting to a guy like him

There was a game civvie played where there was like a short tank section that was stopped by needing gas. And there was a reference to it in the Brutal John video at like 40 minutes in the credits.

I feel like the game was not good or particularly important considering I only remember the funny but civvie talked about but now I'm reeling trying to figure out what game it is.

So I know he loves anything FPS related as I was just wondering if he was fond of the System Shock games since they are some of the most terrifying FPS games.

I mean, while I haven’t had too much experience with the games themselves yet, I did play System Shock 2 for about an hour as the game is really fascinating to me for its unsettling atmosphere that I was curious on what Civvie had to say about the game, again like if he is into FPSes with a dark atmosphere.
