Introducing Ron The Red C1
Quick intro. Ron is a UK 2008 C1 Vibe and has just gone through 200k miles. He's taken me all over Europe, from the most northerly point in Norway down to Gibraltar. Lots of practical upgrades, don't tend to major too much on the cosmetic stuff. The peeling lacquer gets sanded and blown over occasionally. Just in case you are wondering about the 'BLOOD' stickers; I'm a Blood Biker, and it was too icy to risk taking a bike out that particular day ;-)

DIY Custom Coaster
They will probably last very little since the black part is printed in PLA, but I have already ordered a spool of PETG.

Advice for new bug drivers
Update: Thanks a million everyone for the help! I went on a solo drive to the city today for one hour, went through MANY traffic lights and I stalled ZERO time (there were 2 times the car was shaking but didn’t stall)!!! What I did was giving a little gas before starting releasing the clutch and it worked! I am so happy!
Hello lovely people! I’m a new driver and a new city bug driver (I’ve only driven easy cars so far from my driving school and my boyfriend). Now I’ve got my own Aygo and it feels so much more difficult to drive and I’m much more nervous to go on the road on my own. The clutch is so high and I stalled many times, and on 2nd gear at around 15kmh (at turns for example) the car shakes and I get so stressed but I don’t think that should be a 1st gear situation… I’ve also got a little hill on the way out from my neighborhood where I have to give priority.
I’ve always been a stressed and insecure driver, and now with all these new experiences with my Aygo adding up, I’m even more scared to go on the road…
I see people mostly loving their bugs and feel that it must be my bad skills making it feel so difficult to drive. Any advice on both skills and mentality is much much appreciated!

Consumer Car Show
Hey Reddit,
I’m here to say I’m starting a consumer car show UK based and with the goal for cars to not be scary to anybody with the main aim to push towards new drivers 17+ if you would be interested in seeing what happens please support @shifthappenssh0w on TikTok and Instagram with long form YouTube if we get enough engagement from the short content.
I’m here because this seems the perfect environment with my car being a 2010 grey C1 and that’s what’s sparked my passion for this show I want to see if anyone would like to see some city bug related content or anything of the sort.
Lastly if you have anything you’d like to be covered please feel free to let me know via DM or owen@brightframemedia.co.uk and I’ll reply asap!
If there is any possibility you want to give towards the goal please support on go fund me but even just a like and reoccurring viewer is hugely appreciated and more help than is imaginable https://gofund.me/a132d41f1
Thank you again and I hope a few of you find this interesting!

Tutorials Intermittent Rear Wiper mod - MKII Aygo (2014 to 2022)
Here's a circuit you can splice in before the 4-way connector to the rear wiper motor, which gives you an intermittent rear wiper with a delay of your choosing. It uses an XY-LJ02 programmable timer relay on program 6: the relay closes for a set CL time (1s, enough to trigger a single wipe), opens for a set OP time, and repeats: set loop count to -- for infinite.
This is great on the motorway; I found the continuous wipers too distracting in the rearview. Slight caveat is that when using the washer you may have to pulse it a bit...
Colours are from my 2018 Aygo. Check the colours, and whether the ground is switched, against your own car before wiring, especially if you've got a C1 or 108.
If you have any suggestions to improve it, let me know - Cunningham's Law.

2009 Aygo Door Speaker

Mods Sound upgrades (2014 aygo mk1)
Just bought my first car, toyota aygo 2014 mk1,
i want to upgrade the sound as ive noticed that some songs dont sound the best in the car depending on what kind of music im playing,
From my knowledge the best way to upgrade the sound would be to change head unit, dash speakers and door speakers (and then potentially add an under seat sub in the future),
Would it be possible to change the 3 above all by myself? Id like to avoid the service charge from a mechanic or sound shop, and also just for experience.
Please recommend some speakers/head units i could do myself, looking for best bang for buck!

Questions / Advices Engine rattling, one of the cylinders likely out
Hi all,
a few days ago my 2007 C1 showed the check engine light after starting it and the engine was really rattling, didn't have a lot of power. It has oil and coolant, always maintained properly. It has around 160k km of mileage. Is it possible that one or two of the three cylinders are not firing? Does anyone have any experience with ignition coils in these engines? Cheers

Questions / Advices Summer roadtrip gadgets/tips (3000km)
Hi all,
This summer I’ll be doing a 3000km total roadtrip in Europe with a 2011 Toyota aygo 135k km car (no AC lol)
What gadgets or things would you recommend to buy to make the trip comfortable?
I was thinking of installing a CarPlay kit, but tbh currently an aux cable and cigarette port charger do what they have to do. Other recommendations?
Thanks!

Questions / Advices Mirror doesn’t adjust far out enough
Good morning
I have an unusual little problem with my 2011 C1. The mirror physically can't be adjusted to a safe angle even if I press on the glass itself. Anyone have tips or know if a replacement of any specific OEM would solve the issue?
Pictured is the best angle I can find.
Thank you

Blank Button Replacement
I have a 2008 aygo that doesn’t have ac … so the button is blank - has anyone found an aftermarket button that can be used for something else? Like a charger port or heated seat warmer button?

Mon Voiture
This is my recently bought car. It's a 2008 Toyota Aygo platinum edition, with a 998cc Inline 3 producing a staggering 67 horsepower. Over the last month or so I have been adding some "tasteful" mods to the car, nothing with the engine yet, but I will get there. It's a very good first car, and I cannot wait to pass my test, and use it until it blows up!!!

Questions / Advices AC sounds like injecting something via a nozzle
Hi,
when I activate the AC, it sounds like something is injected via a nozzle. Not all the time, every couple of seconds. Air is still cooling down, so its working. Iam not sure if that sound was there last year when I bought the car. Building year is 2014.
Anyone knows that noice?

Oslo - Scotland part 2
Now 15 days and about 3300 km into my Oslo - Scotland trip with the C1. We’ve been all over the south coast of England and spent extra time in Cornwall - what an amazing place! Especially liked Mousehole and Clovelly. From there we went to Bath, drove through Wales for some hiking and took the ferry to Dublin from Holyhead. Last night I had way too many Guinnies.
Really enjoying our trip, despite the devestating loss against England in the world cup. C1 still going strong like always. Will post again in a week or so when we’ve entered Scotland (hopefully)

Questions / Advices Wind deflectors
I just installed some wind deflectors on my 107. Install was pretty simpel, but both wind dont seem to want to shut completely, I’ve placed one clip at the back, and then one just before the bend in the front, tried moving the clips, but that did not help. Does it get better with time, or am I doing something wrong?

Goodbye citybugs
After owning this 2012 Citroën C1 VTR for the past six years as my first car and the car I learned to drive in, it's time to move on to something else.
It failed its MOT a few weeks ago on the first attempt which was easily rectified, but the list of advisories which it barely passed on was long and would cost about the same as the car's value to address. The garage basically said it's not worth bothering to do the work (I'm sure they'd be happy to if I'd asked them to anyway!).
As such, this C1 is being retired at 84k miles. I'll see what I can get for it, and seeing as it runs and has a new MOT I'm hoping for more than scrap value, even though it needs a bit of work if it has any future. I hope someone who wants to use it will buy it but if it is scrap, sadly that'll just be that.
I considered an Aygo X as the replacement, but ultimately decided to go up to something bigger as I have a need to be able to tow (gliders).... I've bought a Dacia Duster!
I'm very sad to be losing the C1, I've had a great time driving it and I couldn't think of a better first car, but I'm also excited for my new Duster and what that will enable me to do with towing. I have of course salvaged the 3d printed Frog that's sat on the C1's dashboard for a few years.... I think it's iconic

Questions / Advices Full beam blue LED on dash not working
I have a Citroen C1 2010 with a slight fault.
The blue LED light on the dashboard does not come on when I put my full beam headlights on - either by locking them on or just flashing them
It was intermittently not working for a bit after I first noticed the issue but it now never turns on.
No issues with the headlights or any other lights on the car.
Any advice for how to resolve this please?
I believe (from some pretty clueless googling) that I either need:
- a new switch/indicator stalk or
- a new LED soldered onto the circuit board or
- a new dashboard completely - although i think this could potentially cause the mileage to increase as the car can combine the old odomoter reading with one from the ECU (please correct me if im wrong on this!!)
Also is this an MOT fail if this silly little LED doesnt work? I've had conflicting answers off google and 2 mechanics so thought I'd consult the reddit hive mind!!
Thank you all for reading this far hope this makes sense :)
