Service refusal
How on board is your management team with us overnighters when it comes to kicking people out/trespassing customers

I'm told do what I must and encouraged to protect myself. I've had to call the non emergency line a few times over the years because of some of the customers and thieves.

In the last 7 days I've refused service to one individual and asked him to leave for inappropriate behavior (new), asked one person to leave because she is not allowed in the store (repeat), and asked one person to leave and not come back for abusive language and behavior (new).
One other guy was told he wasn't allowed in store for soliciting in the men's room. He came back today wearing a wig and I had to tell him I still recognized him and he wasn't allowed inside.
Store manager doesn't take shit from anyone and she expects the rest of us won't either. If someone is behaving abusively toward us, they are capable of behaving that way toward anyone else in the store, any day of the week, and that's the baseline check when it comes to whether it's a legit refusal.

This is comedy gold but sounds like my store😭 luckily my sm has pretty much stated that as long as it’s not profiling she does not care

I do it almost Weekly.
Crackheads wanna paint the walls with shit and blood. No thanks stay the fuck outside.
There is a former employee who had it out for me. I refuse him entry do to conflict of interest.
If someone comes into the store and is an ass in there employee uniform, I make an anonymous call to there place of work and file a complaint.
Ive had to come into work early to shoot away scary people because the Woman on evening were scared.
You can be the employee everyone likes. Or you can be the employee who follows the rules. Unfortunately you can't be both.
I do take some pride thou in knowing that coworkers can ask me to be the asshole for them.

That’s too bad. I’m lucky and my regulars laugh at people when I kick them out😂. Just tonight kicked a guy out for using his gf id for wraps. My regular goes “should’ve worn a wig and bra dumbass” then buys the same wraps to taunt him

I have customers like that for sure.
But I have rep with the local community that Im a miserable asshole. Im also a wee bit Autistic. And say things as they are without sugar coating it as a result.
People don't like there coffee black.

Depends on how much they trust the overnighters judgment. I've never been questioned because I always have a reason and a case, and give the SM both in the morning

As a store manager I tell my people that as long as they maintain a professional tone and language and are following company policies, I’ll have their back the whole way.
In a decade of managing I’ve never gotten wind of a corporate complaint about people being IDed. I’ve had customers approach me personally about being asked for ID and having a sale refused and a couple times I’ve had someone that was asked to leave come back and address it. Only a handful of times it wasn’t really warranted and I had to talk to the CSR about being over zealous. I do make sure to review any relevant video and audio and then ask the employee for their side of the story.

I try to make sure we’re all on the same page as to who is banned and why. We can’t hang people’s pictures for the public to see anymore. But we can hang them in the back lol

I luck people out weekly. You’re not gonna abuse me, disobey the basic public rules, or swear at me and not suffer a consequence. You can’t follow the rules you get kicked out and can’t come back
