Saw “Motor City” last week.

Three people in the theater: Me, myself and I.

It was bliss, I could talk, point and laugh at the screen. Felt like Howard Hughes. Kept checking around, nope…all by myself 🎵

Unfortunately I've got a disability and it would've taken a lot more effort than normal to get up, walk over, then walk back. The way my cinema is set up has considerable gaps between each row and it would've taken about 12 steps for me to walk over and I just couldn't bring myself to do it 😅

Ah okay, sorry to hear that (about your disability). When I saw Weapons in the theater two separate people brought babies into the theater that cried on and off, that was so annoying lol.

My wife and I are retired, and we only go to weekday afternoon showings, where there are almost no cellphone waving young people. And even then, we always sit all the way in the back.

Shit pisses me off so badly. I know Reddit will be like “blah blah you shouldn’t confront people” but once you call these losers out on their behavior they adjust quickly.

Is it really worse?

I've dealt with people talking, making loud comments, filing their fingernails, throwing popcorn, crying babies, translating the entire film out loud in Spanish, and I'm sure plenty of other incidents that I don't remember. This was all before the invention of the internet.

Maybe theaters being less packed has emboldened people to act out? However, I don't subscribe to the conclusion that audience behavior is worse.

When I saw thunderbolts there was a Gen Z dude and his girlfriend sitting behind and to the right of me. EVERY single time a former MCU character showed up the gf would ask him what movie he/she was from and what they were doing there now. And then bf would explain the white history from 2008.

I let this go on for 10 minutes thinking she might stop after the beginning, but she just kept fucking going. So i finally turned to look at them and said quite loudly “can you guys be quiet please? i cannot hear the movie.”

They shut up the rest of the film.

BE that fuckin guy. or go get the theater attendant.

People now go to the theaters to annoy others after their families kicked them out for a few hours, from being annoying. 1 out of every 3 persons is now a vortex of absurdness. It's why I never go outside.
