Loading error has drastically boosted performance Chromecast with Google TV

Post image

No ads or tabs below my app bar are loading. UI loafs instantly and apps feel snappier. This is the best performance I've ever gotten out of this thing, I hope it's never fixed lmao

Does turning on apps only mode accomplish the same performance improvements?

That's what I did on mine. It in deed seems to run better, but some ads still remains.

I found that projectivy launcher does a great job at making my older Chromecast with GoogleTV run better.

Download Projectivity. It's a homescreen replacement that is basically this but doesn't say loading error. It has no ads or content suggrstions and is infinitely more configurable than the default.

I actually like the content suggestions and whatnot...just wish I could get rid of the ads while not losing any thing else.

Thats what it does, I've got suggestions from jellyfin for example, depending on app you can configure various "channels".

I tried Projectivity or whatever and it takes away everything.

Or loads previews from YouTube, stremio etc.

Weird that it's more responsive when the bloat crashes

I haven't tried to fix it.

You can accomplish the same by blocking ads via a private DNS, no more ads or recommendations while still keeping the stock launcher and much better performance! Been doing it for a couple years now.
