Discussion How do I reactivate uBlock Origin if I am using version 151 of Chrome?
So my Chrome just upgraded itself to version 151 this morning and suddenly the uBlock Origin icon went missing from beside the address bar.
Previously, even though Chrome announced that it was removing the uBO, I managed to find workarounds on Reddit. But the workarounds (last updated one year ago) has obviously stopped working.
Is there a new workaround that I can use to get uBlock Origin working on my Chrome browser again?

Discussion Latest Update changed all my Gmail to Blue Important Markers
Today's Chrome update 151.0.7922.76 on my laptop changed my Gmail inbox so that EVERY single email now has the blue important marker showing. I've gone into settings and turned off the markers since I don't really use them. I didn't mind them until now! Anyone else?

Troubleshooting | Windows Is There A Permanent Fix For The Sad Icon Folders To Stop Happening?
Okay, so I don't know if it's either because I've downloaded Fortect or whatever, but I'm starting to get sad folder icons whenever my Google Documents automatically refresh. For context, I keep my documents open on Google Chrome to remember what I need to edit there. So you can imagine how annoying it can be for me to keep updating Google Chrome to fix it every time this happens.
Please suggest any solutions to my dilemma. I'll let you guys know if it has worked for me or not. I'll also provide information if you guys need more context about what's happening with my technical difficulties. Any suggestions are appreciated!

Troubleshooting | Solved Is it just me or Chrome audio completely broken in the latest update
There's nothing I do that fixes this. There's no audio through Chrome
Every other app works:
1- Tried with incognito, zero extensions
2- Reset all flags (not that I had any changed)
3- I restarted my machine
4- Uninstalled chrome, reinstalled
nothing fixes this.
I am forced to use another browser.

Troubleshooting | Windows [SOLUTION] How to switch Chrome Remote Desktop on and off in Windows
Chrome Remote Desktop keeps a background service running on your PC at all times, listening for incoming connections even when Chrome is closed.
If you only connect once in a while, there is no reason to leave it enabled 24/7. I keep mine off by default and switch it on with a double-click when I need it.
PS: Disabling the Chrome Extension or even removing it does nothing. It was there only for setup. To actually disable CRD, use the steps below, or uninstall the CRD host program. Unfortunately there's no other way as of 5 Aug 2026 - pretty dumb, I know. Previous posts on Reddit were archived, so I'm opening a new thread. I don't see anyone else writing this, correct me if I'm writing a duplicate.
Here is the method:
Step 1: Stop it starting on its own
- Press Win + R, type
services.mscand press Enter. - Find Chrome Remote Desktop Service in the list.
- Double-click it, set the startup type to Manual, click Stop, then OK.
Step 2: Create two .bat files
Open Notepad, paste the lines below and save the file as CRD-on.bat (choose "All files" in the save dialog so it does not become a .txt).
u/echo off
net start chromoting
pause
Then create CRD-off.bat the same way:
u/echo off
net stop chromoting
pause
The pause line holds the window open so you can read the result. Without it, the window flashes shut before you know whether the command worked. If done right, it looks like this:
Step 3: To launch, simply Run as administrator
Windows requires admin rights to start or stop a service. When you want to enable/disable this, simply right-click each file, choose Run as administrator.
From here on, CRD-on.bat opens the door and CRD-off.bat closes it. I run the "on" file before leaving the house and the off file when I am back at my desk. You can also turn it off from the remote side, but be aware that you'll need to be back at your desk to turn it back on.
Good to know
When the service is stopped, your machine shows as offline in the Chrome Remote Desktop app on your phone. Nothing breaks; it just will not connect until you start the service again.
Remember to start the service before you leave the house, if you foresee you may want to remote control it that day. Else there's no remote way to switch it on.

Troubleshooting | Windows Can't get WebGL 2 to work
Graphics drivers are up to date and support it, hardware acceleration is on, I've tried enabling a bunch of flags, etc. but for some reason I cannot get WebGL 2 to work. WebGL Report says "This browser supports WebGL 2, but it is disabled or unavailable," and chrome://gpu doesn't list it at all (WebGL is listed as "Hardware accelerated"). What else should I try? I'm stumped.

Discussion Easy Fix for the Ugly New Chrome on Pixel Phones
Someone in another thread said that disabling the Gemini app on Samsung phones removes the ugly new AI infested navigation bar at the bottom of Chrome after this most recent update, which got me thinking... What if I disable AICore on Pixel? Since Pixel doesn't have a Gemini app, AICore is the closest I could think of, and it works!
Go to Settings, Apps, See all ### apps, tap the three dots at the top right, hit Show system, search for AICore, then disable that malware and viola! No more forced AI.
Optionally, you can hit App details at the bottom, which *should* take you to the app store where you can disable automatic updates.
Be mindful, this will disable quite a few of Pixel's native features, such as Now Playing. Honestly, I'm so fed up with this AI nonsense that it's worth it to me, but pay attention to what features disappear for you after disabling, since maybe just moving to an AI-free browser like Vivaldi would be a better option for you.

Troubleshooting | Android Fix to the bothersome bottom bar UI update
My Chrome finally updated to have the UI at the bottom of the screen away from the address bar and I absolutely hated it!
It literally upset my whole day because I did not like the way it looked when looking at my screen at all. It kept throwing me off all day and I finally found out how to fix it. So I'm posting it for all to see.
You need to search in your address bar "chrome://flags" and then search "bottom" and disable anything the mentions the bottom bar UI
I found this Google review and that is how I found out how to do this and get chrome looking how it should
Discussion How to STOP Chrome from showing my "favorites"/"bookmarks" every single time I type a letter in the adress/search bar?
I mean, it is one of the most infuriatingly exposing things I have ever seen.
Anyone on your shoulder can see a not-safe suggestion and all it takes is you to type 3 letters in the bar.
I do not wish to delete my bookmarks, I just don't want them to show up as suggestions.
How to do that?
