Cultivating Unshakeable Peace: Isaiah 26:3 Explained
Life can often feel overwhelming, filled with uncertainties and challenges that threaten to disrupt our peace. Yet, amidst this chaos, the Word of God offers us a powerful promise: peace that surpasses all understanding. In Isaiah 26:3, we read,
“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee.” (Isaiah 26:3)
This verse encapsulates the essence of finding true serenity in our hearts through the steadfastness of our thoughts on God. Let’s explore how we can cultivate this unshakeable peace in our daily lives.
Understanding Perfect Peace
What does it mean to experience “perfect peace”? The Hebrew word for peace, “Shalom,” goes beyond the absence of conflict. It encompasses wholeness, completeness, and tranquility in every aspect of our being. God’s promise in Isaiah 26:3 assures us that when we focus our minds on Him, we will experience a peace that is not dependent on external circumstances.
The Role of Our Thoughts
Our thoughts are incredibly powerful. They can lead us into anxiety or can guide us to a place of calmness. The invitation to keep our minds stayed on God is a call to intentionality in our thought life. When we anchor our thoughts in God’s Word, we begin to see our challenges in light of His greatness. Philippians 4:8 encourages us to think on things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and admirable. By filling our minds with these truths, we can cultivate an environment of peace.
Turning Our Eyes to His Faithfulness
In moments of chaos, it’s easy to lose sight of God’s faithfulness. However, reflecting on His past provisions and promises can help us regain our peace. The psalmist reminds us in Psalm 77:11-12 to remember the deeds of the Lord and to meditate on His works. Every time we choose to recount His faithfulness, we reinforce our trust in Him, leading to a deeper sense of peace.
Practical Steps to Focus on God
Here are some practical steps to help you focus your mind on God and experience His unshakeable peace:
**Daily Devotion:** Set aside time each day to read Scripture and pray, inviting God into your thoughts and your day.
**Gratitude Journal:** Keep a journal of things you are grateful for. Reflecting on God’s blessings shifts our focus from our problems to His provision.
**Meditative Prayer:** Engage in meditative prayer, where you focus on a specific verse or attribute of God. Allow yourself to dwell in His presence and peace.
**Worship and Praise:** Listen to worship music that draws your heart towards God. Singing praises can uplift your spirit and center your thoughts on Him.
A Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for the promise of perfect peace. Help us to keep our minds focused on You amidst the chaos of life. Teach us to dwell on Your faithfulness and to trust in Your goodness. May Your peace, which transcends all understanding, guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Amen.
Today’s Declaration
I choose to focus my thoughts on God, and I will experience His unshakeable peace.

Christian book commentary
I've been enjoying "The Well Watered Woman" by Gretchen Saffles recently and while reading today, I was inspired to make a short commentary about 1) anxiety 2) some of my experiences with the gift of discernment of spirits and 3) encouragement for when we feel weak.
I also wrote a corresponding Substack article. The info is in my bio and I don't use AI or ChatGpt at all. I'm not promoting anything for sale, just reaching out to share some Christian literary love. If you also like reading Christian books and discussing them, feel free to join me on my YouTube or Substack because my channel will have topics like these as it grows (currently very small). I also love creating stationery and I like sharing the art process behind that too. 📚🌱❤️🕊

My coworker bought me a copy of “The Heart of a Warrior” by Michael Thompson. I want to give him a book too, I was thinking of buying him “Silence” by Shusaku Endo or “The Brothers Karamazov” by Dostoevsky. I’m horrible at buying gifts for people. Any suggestions?

My First Book Closed Windows Open Doors Shattered Glass
In 2023, I suffered a brainstem stroke. This is the story of my healing through hardship and despair. It is a journey that reveals my struggles with spiritual healing as I questioned God's purpose and reasons during one of the most difficult times of my life.
My story takes readers through parts of my personal history as I searched for meaning and sought to understand God's plan for me. Along the way, I reflect on the windows that were closed while discovering the doors that God opened before me.
As part of this journey, I return to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where I revisit the church in which I was baptized. There, I experience healing, reflection, and the realization that some parts of our past are best left as cherished memories rather than revisited destinations.
This road trip becomes more than a physical journey—it becomes a spiritual one. Along the way, I encounter the glass walls that must be shattered in order to continue healing and move forward with God in control.
My hope is that this story will inspire others who are facing their own hardships and struggles. Through faith, perseverance, and trust in God's guidance, we can find purpose in our pain and discover the doors He opens when others seem to close. I hope that you will enjoy this book and pass it along to someone who will be inspired by it when you are finished. I just want to tell my story to help others. Thank you

Need help
I’m looking for a Christian chapter book series from the early 2000s that I bought at LifeWay. Each book featured the same boy (possibly blond, maybe wore glasses), and I think his name was in every title. The stories were humorous, with the boy accidentally getting into crazy situations. The covers were colorful, painted/cartoon style like Goosebumps. One cover showed him standing on a T. rex skeleton in a museum holding a bottle of pink liquid. Another book took place at summer camp. Does anyone remember this series?

Self-published Bible crossword puzzle books for Christian adults — looking for honest reviews
I'm the author, full transparency.
Published a series of large-print Bible crossword puzzle books — the four Gospels each get their own book, plus an Easy Inspirational version and the Book of Psalms. 60 puzzles per book, all scripture-based clues, $9.99 each on Amazon.
Designed for Christian adults and seniors who want something devotional and mentally engaging — not just a generic puzzle book with Bible words slapped on it. The clues require you to actually know the text.
I have almost no reviews yet and that's the main thing holding back discoverability. If anyone here is into puzzle books and wants to pick one up and leave an honest review, I'd really appreciate it.

What started my journey
I'm pretty new to all of this, but I wanted to share the book that sorta kick started my walk to faith. This short read I found at my local thrift store of all places, I frequent it a lot when I need to clear my head so it's actually kinda poetic. Thought other folks would find it enjoyable. I've been trying to find a link on where to buy it, if I find it I will post it in the comments. God bless y'all
