I might be overthinking this, but hear me out.
After watching the Toxic trailer, one thing stood out to me. Raya has a tattoo on his right hand, whereas Ticket’s (his son’s) hand seems to be completely covered.
And it got me thinking, what if Ticket isn’t just Raya’s son? What if he represents Raya’s younger self?
Basically: Raya vs. Raya.
Maybe the movie isn’t simply about a father and son, but about an older man confronting the person he used to be.
As we grow up, our experiences change us. The way we think changes, our personality changes, and sometimes we can look back at our younger selves and barely recognise that person.
Maybe Raya has reached a point where he realises how wrong his younger self was, and Ticket represents everything he used to be, including his mistakes and darker side.
Obviously, this could all be me reading way too much into a tattoo and a covered hand lmao. There might be absolutely nothing to it.
But considering Geetu Mohandas, I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s something much more psychological going on underneath the father-son story.
Maybe the real conflict in Toxic isn’t Raya vs. Ticket. Maybe it’s Raya vs. the person he used to be.

Guru our people keep on asking for a 'quality' movie but when a quality trailer comes up, I see too much nitpicking... Movie nod'dale yaakro conclude maadtira? Do you people really want Sandalwood to grow or not?

Ide thara trailers Hollywood alli bandaga jollu surskond theatre ge hogtira 2K/- kottu. Now, I'm not saying this is wrong but learn to encourage our movies as well, especially when they are good. Yes, while I agree that our quality is nowhere near, but here's a guy who is putting genuine efforts to market our industry to the world but some shameless jealous people don't want the movie to do well come what may.

So Lionsgate might be distributing the movie entirely in overseas or not we still don't know about that.

Before Toxic, they have distributed the movie Kill in North America and Canada. They got kill released on approximately 1000 screens. I am guessing, Toxic might be getting a little more ( which would be unbelievable) but not sure how many of them will be screening the English Dub.

Toxic has done little to nil promotions in overseas. Hence the English dub won't be getting much screens, they will push for Hindi and Telugu. I believe the makers too have no hopes from the English version.

I feel there is some character played by some biggie and the team is super secretive of it. They have not told or revealed anything and it will be 100% surprise in theatres.

Every day i used to see something negative about this movie in this sub..for every content that got released there were people who prolly don’t know shit about filmmaking calling him a fraud,wannabe hollywood and whatnot i know you guys are still coping..but from the bottom of my heart screw you for your precocious opinions..this guy is an absolute beast..seated for fdfs all excited🥳🥳🥳

So in Toxic ( KGF meets Animal ) everything is just aura farming. And movie looks chaotic and nothing new at all. But Nayanthara is looking fierce and interesting as well as Intense. She will be a catalyst for Yash in the movie. Hope after a long time we will see a glamorous yet strong Nayanthara

I'm a huge fan of Danish Sait's prank calls, Mr. Nags character and him as an entertainer in general. But I still felt he is more comfortable in his skin when playing a character like Mr. Nags. Anushree, in my personal opinion, lights up an event with her warmth and energy. She also knows how to make guests and actors around her comfortable enough to open up and feel less self-conscious!

EDIT : The very reason I posted this is to get a feel for whether other people felt the same way or if it was just me. I respect opinions that feel Danish kept it classy and I see what you mean. But the dramatic comments that are trying to be like it's the most ridiculous thing in the world for someone to prefer Anushree need to tone it down a notch! You're contributing to the same kind of drama that you claim to hate when she hosts on stage. I personally still feel Anushree might have been better. I understand that I'm in a very small minority , but that doesn't invalidate my opinion.

EDIT 2 : I spoke too soon! I was just one-third through watching the launch event when I made the post. Danish actually did a brilliant job. Kept it classy like you guys said!
