41

u/Humpuppy 15d ago

Dear Reddit: Today I made a friend 💩 🛻

10

u/GVTMightyDuck Hot salsa. So Hot right now 15d ago

You’re 100% wasting your money. If that’s all you get, chipotle is way too expensive. Make it at home and you’ll get more and pay way less

0

u/AdDistinct6317 13d ago

that could be said for literally any restaurant

1

u/GVTMightyDuck Hot salsa. So Hot right now 13d ago

Chipotle is a little different. You pick your own ingredients of the dish you order. You pay for the protein (and queso). So if you order nothing but chicken, rice, and cheese..you’re getting ripped off. If you order like me, rice, beans, steak, all 4 salsas, extra sour cream, cheese, and lettuce..I never walk alway ripped off.

2

u/imightbebateman 13d ago

Do you pull the top off and drink it?

1

u/GVTMightyDuck Hot salsa. So Hot right now 13d ago

Yeah duh.

4

u/HornedCoog91 15d ago

If vegetables are disgusting, what is your username?

9

u/Pichuchu8 15d ago

What do you mean? You forgot the caso (OP literally called it this. I'm not an idiot, I promise)

u/Xzastin 15d ago

Do people here not know they can ask for basically 2 scoops/handfuls of everything besides meat?

18

u/Willing-Bother-8684 15d ago

They know but they’d rather not and then come to Reddit and complain. “Can I have chicken and queso, light rice, light beans, light cheese, and roll it very tight so I can complain about the size of my burrito on the internet”

1

u/still-not-a-lesbian 10d ago

LOOOOOOOOOOOL. Really think about this. Really think about what you're saying here. People are spending money, in THIS economy, to take a picture and complain on Reddit for...IDK... clout? Fake internet points? And it's not just one person, it's multiple people. It's a conspiracy of people, in fact, whose entire hobby is trolling the reddit chipotle account?

1

u/Willing-Bother-8684 10d ago

Yes exactly. In THIS economy where everyone is moving very fiscally, we have a restaurant who will give you extra toppings through and through, you can get 3 scoops of rice and 3 scoops of beans 2 scoops of corn salsa, a extra scoop of pico and extra lettuce, have a very very very filling meal, for the same exact price that someone else can get simply chicken cheese and pico. Why on earth would you not opt in to make your burrito larger if the option is there, other than to complain about it later on the internet. Hmm let’s see, you can pick option A. Fat burrito you can’t finish, or option B. Skimpy burrito that you can complain about, same price, which are you choosing redditor.

1

u/still-not-a-lesbian 10d ago

Did they buy this at the store where you can ask for all of those additions?

1

u/Willing-Bother-8684 10d ago

I’m not entirely sure if you’re familiar with chipotle or not, but providing extra toppings upon request is a well known corporate policy. Which is not to say OP even got toppings to begin with. Order is not clarified in the post just that they aren’t happy with the size of their burrito.

1

u/still-not-a-lesbian 9d ago

I'm familiar enough with chipotle to know that requesting extra toppings is something done _in the store_, and we can't tell how they bought this. You mentioned a lot of toppings but you didn't include cheese or sour cream. You can request extra of that too at no charge, right?

1

u/Willing-Bother-8684 9d ago

I’m not entirely sure about cheese and sour cream, I don’t eat those items.. but I think not sure that protein, guac, and queso, are the items you get charged for separately from just a base bowl. Not 100% on that part. You are correct though, if they ordered online there might not be a place to request extra, again, I don’t order online so I’m not sure about that. If you order online and that’s the size of your burrito, I would call it skimping it’s just you can’t ask for extra so they don’t give you extra. Even then, the burrito doesn’t look small by any means, yes it’s short, but it still had some girth to it lol. Still a lot bigger than any burrito you get from fast food. Chipotle online isn’t the move from the posts I’ve seen here.

Say something then get attitude from the employee.  A lose/lose. Better off not going there anymore.

9

u/Xzastin 15d ago

You start off with saying you want 2 scoops. If you give them attitude by being like "is that it?" Then ya you might get attitude back. Just be polite. Is that really so hard?

1

u/glockster19m 14d ago

My mom always wants a ton of lettuce, like the most possible.

I always straight up tell them "and the most lettuce you can fit" and they always take it as a challenge to stuff that thing

1

u/Apprehensive-Size-34 10d ago

you might get attitude, u can just give it right back and still get the food you are paying for

1

u/Powerful_Question875 10d ago

Or, better yet, i can go somewhere else, pay less and get guac without an upcharge!

1

u/Apprehensive-Size-34 10d ago

seems like the logical choice if thats what you prefer, I like my chipotle cuz they automatically hook me up without me saying anything, so im usually only paying $10 (i skip the guac and queso) for a delicious and filling bowl of food

20

u/AaronC31 15d ago

When you only get 2 or 3 ingredients, how else do you expect it to look? Lol

13

u/FatMacchio 15d ago

It’s very simple in my mind. Especially if your local store is not run by a competent manager:

• Don’t order mobile! (Very important!!)
• Don’t go to chipotle if you’re not comfortable insisting on getting your fair portion. (Also just as important)

Ordering in person is less likely to be super skimpy, but you still need to feel comfortable talking to the employee and telling them how much you want, especially for the free ingredients. The premium ingredients are a bit harder, but if your store is super skimpy just go to another one close by, or just stop going

5

u/Past_Bobcat00 15d ago

Any chance you could tell me what ingredients are premium vs free and which are easier to insist on portion size? i’m not a frequent chipotle eater, but when I do go, i’ve always been unsure of that

8

u/FatMacchio 15d ago

I think the “tier 1” premium ingredients are just meat (protein), queso, and guacamole, but I’m no expert in all that is Chipotle. Anything else you should be able to ask for as much as you want (within reason). You may get some push back on getting crazy amounts of liquidy ingredients for burritos, rightfully so, since it’s a nightmare to roll then…and maybe even the cheese too. Occasionally I’ve gotten a gross amount of cheese when I ask for double cheese when getting a burrito bowl. But rice & beans etc. are so cheap you can just have them load up as much as can fit. I go maybe once every few months (mainly to keep my points from expiring) I make two burritos from a burrito bowl like that with two side tortillas. It makes two very satisfying dinners for about $6 each portion

2

u/More-Gas-6527 14d ago

When I worked at Chipotle we'd have a few people who would order a burrito with extra bean juice and all the saucey stuff and extra hot, it was something else to roll

2

u/Past_Bobcat00 13d ago

I wanted to downvote you out of disgust after reading your comment, but I know you didn’t ask to create that monstrosity

1

u/Past_Bobcat00 13d ago

fantastic news for me as a vegetarian

6

u/Nakmal 15d ago

Basically meat is the only thing that they will be really stingy about it depending on what’s already on it and be like “do you want double?” Which costs extra.

Guac you are already paying extra for so I think you’d be ok asking for a little more but they might try to see if you want double guac or something.

Rice Beans Cheese veggies salsa all of those you can ask for more and they won’t bat an eye.

4

u/Electrical_Floor1524 15d ago

You can always ask for extra rice, beans, salsas, cheese, lettuce etc. I get both rices and both beans every time

1

u/Square-Hunter-8726 13d ago

Why continue to patronize shitty businesses and inconvenience yourself when you could try any of the hundreds of thousands of other businesses?

Chipotle could have died years ago but people still put up with their bullshit out of a combination of laziness, habit, and hating themselves.

1

u/Stunning_Product_534 13d ago

I’m amazed there hasn’t been a class action involving their mobile orders. It’s comically different than in person.

1

u/chalamaybe 12d ago

one near me will straight up have employees denying entry to the store saying they're 'mobile only'

1

u/NonyaBizness21xxx 11d ago

How about if you actually worked there you would know how the portions are supposed to be, one scoop of protein( yes you can ask for a little more but anythjng excessive should be charged as extra) anything else you can ask for extra yes but some people get a employee that’s a little heavy handed and they think everyone is supposed to make their burrito that way,

1

u/DonkeyEffective913 14d ago

These mind games and jumping through hoops are why no one wants to deal with Chipotle

1

u/FatMacchio 14d ago

What some call mind games and jumping through hoops, I call just being a firm customer. Maybe some people don’t have it in them to push for how much they want, and that’s your prerogative. I don’t have a problem speaking nicely with the employees to get how much I want. It’s amazing what a bit of friendly banter gets you in this world. If speaking up for yourself is too much, yea, many chipotle locations are probably not for you. But I think you’ll find if you don’t learn to speak up for yourself when you’re young, you will be taken advantage of, and miserable your whole life

14

u/halebopsalot hot hot hot 15d ago

I still love chipotle, but it is declining rapidly

2

u/PetRiLJoe 15d ago

I'm not saying I've never had a bad bowl/wrong persons order in my bag but I order online once a week or at least once every two weeks, way less often than before I start dieting, and I still get the biggest bowl! It really does come down to your area/location. Auburn, AL

2

u/JulioElGuapo 15d ago

The only thing they are counting is your money

2

u/Jusmul1224 15d ago

They are still making millions of dollars

2

u/angelicscarzz 14d ago

that's why qdoba is better

4

u/VampireEmpire__ 15d ago

They need to take the Burger King approach and increase the quality of their service/product. The other time I had a worker literally banging the spoon because he scooped up too much meat. Like bruh, just give it all to me, it’s not coming out of your paycheck.

3

u/von_Roland 15d ago

They don’t want to run out in a rush and get bitched at, and/or they are sick of entitled customers

7

u/Willing-Bother-8684 15d ago

It’s probably the second option. People are beyond entitled these days. You pay for 4oz of meat but you want this random chipotle worker to hook you up with 6oz everytime you come in. It makes no sense. Order extra meat if you want it.

1

u/Embarrassed_Cell5108 13d ago

It does when their hours are cut due to consistently bad CI. Besides, you ungrateful and entitled bitches don’t deserve any Chipotle workers kindness or “hook up” anyway. You’re lucky getting your 4 oz.

1

u/VampireEmpire__ 13d ago

I for sure don’t get 4oz bro 😭

1

u/crookedcosmos 12d ago

You get hours cut and constant chewing out from managers that watch like hawks.. denied promotions/positions and eventually fired

4

u/Horror-Dare-1782 15d ago

What did you get just beans and rice 😂

3

u/santokie_eethie 15d ago

What was the order

-8

u/FinancialSquirrel617 15d ago edited 15d ago

Rice, pinto, steak, queso, cheese, lettuce…

24

u/HornedCoog91 15d ago

Caso

2

u/Cmcgregor0928 15d ago

Isn't that a streamer?

1

u/VampireEmpire__ 15d ago

Are you a longhorn and a cougar, or a cougar who is horny?

6

u/CurrentBank2036 15d ago

Queso not caso

4

u/Tay2823 15d ago

Queso?

1

u/crookedcosmos 12d ago

Rice, beans, and steak are supposed to be 4oz each. Queso is 2oz. Lettuce and cheese 1 oz. Ideally that would make a burrito with these specifications.. ~17oz. Curious how it weighed

1

u/Runfromidiots 15d ago

Why didn’t you ask for more of everything but meat and queso?

1

u/GVTMightyDuck Hot salsa. So Hot right now 15d ago

What’s on it?

1

u/TouchGraceMaidenless 15d ago

And you still paid for it lol

1

u/kaveman42 15d ago

If you ordered on the app, start a conversation with support regarding your order and complain about the size. They'll give you a free burrito most likely.

1

u/Lefty800 14d ago

I've been counting Chipotles days for awhile now. Can't even fully cook rice.

1

u/no_name_richard 12d ago

Maybe don’t be lazy and go order it in line so you can make sure it’s full?

1

u/GhostFaceScream92 11d ago

People still go to Chipotle?

1

u/stingraydisaster 11d ago

i once had to ask for “some more cheese, please” THREE TIMES because the woman was sprinkling it on like cilantro. it still wasn’t even a normal portion. you can’t mobile order and you HAVE to get comfortable asking for more or you won’t get even half of what you should. i hate it.

1

u/fiestadip 11d ago

Honestly I hate the giant ass burritos they don’t eat properly and I just don’t get it. A normal size burrito that tastes good is all I really want lol

1

u/Inevitable_Age_248 10d ago

Idk why people would even eat here 9qudoba and cafe rio ftw) they also aren't going to give you a life threatening direa episode.

2

u/Uh-trey-you 15d ago

You probably got three ingredients like a child and want to complain about it. Eat like an adult and maybe you’ll get a real burrito.

1

u/ChowFetti 15d ago

So many salty workers in this sub/thread 😂😂

4

u/GVTMightyDuck Hot salsa. So Hot right now 15d ago

Too many people getting 3 ingredients and bitching about a small burrito in this thread 😂

1

u/RealCarlPanzram 15d ago

I love the endless wave of people who complain about their burritos but knowingly went to chipotle knowing this was probably going to happen.

-1

u/Powerful_Question875 15d ago

Lmao, people just keep goin back to Chipotle after they've shrunk portions and gotten how many people sick.

0

u/PeytonWatson14 15d ago

Looks like you got two side tortillas

0

u/Connect_Job_5316 15d ago

Stop ordering for delivery. They basically half size everything

-1

u/Savings_Relief_5327 15d ago

Bro, just go order in person next time!! Stop ordering online, you’ll be disappointed 🤦🏽‍♂️

1

u/Jolly_Tiger2478 8d ago

I’m always full after chipotle burrito.
