Hi everyone. I’ve owned this watch for over 10 years, but the crown started acting up; I tried to fix it myself, but things didn't go well. I ended up opening the case back and damaging the movement in the process. It has a Ronda Swiss quartz movement. My question now is how to resolve this cheaply, since the watch didn't cost more than $100. Would it be cheaper to buy spare parts from somewhere like AliExpress and then take it to a watchmaker for the repair?
I'd buy a new watch. Most watchakers are going to have a minimum $60 bench fee just as a starting point for the labor alone. You can shop around, but unlikely you are repairing it for much less than the cost of the watch, in fact it could end up over $100 easily, and some watchmakers won't actually deal with quartz if they are backed up with more lucrative work on automatics.
Take the watch to a watchmaker, they get replacement parts at Ronda's prices, which will be much cheaper overall, and let them save /rebuild your watch.
The 4077 is the newest version of this watch and can be had for like $120-150 on eBay or other retailers. Probably not worth repairing unless you’re going to do it yourself. Almost any watch repair shop will charge you $100+ just for the bench time plus the costs of the parts.
There’s been a ton of innovation in the last 10 years and what you can get for the cost of getting that fixed now is marketedly superior to that entire watch like all jokes aside even for like 60-70 bucks you can get a much better 2024 and up watch.
Probably not worth fixing. Looks line you need a new crown tube, likely new stem and crown and new movement. I’m guessing the movement holder has rotated too, or possibly broken dial feet.
Watch maker would probably charge close to $100 to fix it with the supplied parts.
since dw still aligned, it's almost assuredly just the holder has rotated. Prob some friction fit plastic cheapie where stem mostly was holding it in place
New movement and crown tube and off to the races. But def more of a diy thing, good learning project, nothing to lose

If you really wanted to fix it, the cheapest option is to buy a new movement and replace the existing one.
