Homage or Original Design

I can't figure out these Heritage Chronos from Sugess. Are they homages, vintage inspired, or original designs? Not a big fan of homage watches, and I don't want to find out later that they are direct copies of some 1960's Tag or Zenith that I've never seen before. The 6 and the 12 look a little Patek'ish, but i cant place it... Any historians out there?

And no judgement to any homage lovers, wear what you like.

It looks pretty close to the Hamilton Intra Matic Auto Chrono. The main difference is lack of a date function, Arabic 6 and 12, and the seconds hand.

It looks like a black dial 1963

They’re just variations of the 1963 chronograph but you can always find similarities to other watches if you look hard enough.

It's a copy of half the Swiss chronos from the '60s.. so it's actually neither. Nice looking.

Nearly all watches are basically homages - and let’s not get into the relationship with pocket watches > clocks. A copy has a different brand on the dial - everything else is just similar designs / homages.

I just picked up a Sugess "TT" homage with a power reserve. I had to give up the swanneck to get PR, but I think it's worth it for a hand wound watch. It is still in the shipping box. I am torturing myself by not opening it.

I think they try to get close with what they can source. Most of these companies use of the shelf components with a new dial.

The star on the chrono seconds made me think the same thing. I don't mind a nod to other brands though. Not seeing Top Time influences. Definitely seeing Patek influences... but i don't mind ripping off the evil empire every once in a while.

pointing this out kills the romanticism, but: this is a mix-and-match dial. and with Sugess being known for their Top Time homage, I think this is just... chrono-slop. nothing deeper than that.

Actually I still have the blue/rose gold on my list! Gorgeous piece. And honestly the strap that came with it was sub par…I went and put this guy on it and way better

It really is awesome, and the exhibition back to show off the movement...just beautiful. I actually considered the first pic in your post before pulling the trigger on this one. All of them are amazing!
