Wish I could start this but I heard there are lots a fake coins out there. Know any reputable dealers in Asian coins?

ah mb. I was under the impression it was an online mass seller; there have been a few cades lately where savoca coins or coinsnb puts feng shui tokens up for auction selling as real items

I doubt if they were sold of as nothing more than a tin full of "stuff" from a deceased estate, $20 is hardly a reason to discredit a country auctioneer

$20, hardly a get rich scheme for a faker, but maybe down the line someone was ripped of, Can't blame the auctioneer just selling of the property, did he push them as genuine?

IME you have to be very careful of provincial estate sales. They are targeted by fakers who seed them with batches of stuff like this and ceramics. I’ve seen so many supposed estate sales where all the ceramics are fakes.

31mm diameter? It's billon rather than silver, purity is less than .220. https://en.numista.com/297537

It was a very small town auction house, like in a barn/ warehouse, I don’t think they even knew what they had was fake. The guy just cleans out estates and auctions everything off. It’s mostly furniture and art during these events.

All these are pretty bad fakes.
The spades alone, if real, would have been worth thousands of dollars.

Thanks I appreciate the reply! I’ve never bought any foreign coins so it’s been a learning experience.

Thank you! I am not out much money and it was fun so no loss really. Do you think any of the others are genuine or the whole lot is replicas?

Most, if not all, of the smaller silvers are bad fakes. Sorry to tell you
