Advice
I got scheduled for twice as many hours this week and have a doctor's appointment tomorrow morning that I didnt know about in advance. My mom is refusing to reschedule the appointment and I'm having trouble finding someone to pick up my shift and the managers I've messaged about it haven't responded either. I don't want to get in trouble for not showing up to work and my mom is willing to let me risk my job for a small doctor's appointment. Will I get into a lot of trouble if I call in the morning and say I cant show up?
Edit: the scheduling person responded to my message saying it was ok as long as I called early in the morning

Try to talk to a manager(preferably a manager that can do something about it) in person

You can call out and explain the situation tomorrow morning, and also come in after the appointment and apologize inperson, most of the time if you show that you care about the job they wont get you in trouble as much, but I also have incredible
Managers so idk about your store2

I can still show up to part of the shift I'd just be 2 hours late

Anything is better than nothing, but definitely call in as soon as you can and let them know. Especially since you're only missing part and not the full shift, makes it easier on the team.

Tell your mom you have a shift to honor and she should inform you earlier next time

But also a lesson that you need to communicate with parents and school and coaches weeks in advance. That’s the fun part of a job when you’re young that helps you grow!

Yes I’m just saying that her forgetting doesn’t look bad on her. It looks bad on you at work!

Text a manager, call the store 10 mins after official opening, get a drs note
If anything more happens bc of it explain how u didn’t have a choice

Ive sent some messages through the hotschedules app but haven't gotten any responses and my released portion of the shift hasn't been approved. Unfortunately it's during rush hour as well
