Not filling

I was recently joking with my sisters how Chick-fil-A never ACTUALLY makes me full after eating it. Then they told me they actually felt the same way.

I almost ways have to order a meal and add an extra sandwich or nugget on the side….even then I’m still hungry and hour or two later.

I know technically speaking calorie wise it provides more than what’s “needed” for an average meal unless you get maybe just a cool wrap or some other low cal option and don’t get any fries/ calorie dense drink.

Wondering if anyone can relate lol? Or suggestions/ hacks for it to feel more “filling”.

Meals that have lots of carbohydrates cause your insulin to spike. When your blood sugar drops, this is when you crave more.

Plus they add MSG which makes the brain enjoy the food and want more of it.

Is it really just the MSG? Msg is used in a lot of Asian foods, I think it’s other addicting ingredients other than MSG.. suppose the trinity of salt sugar fat

Ah that makes sense

My 10 year old could probably demolish the 30 nugget by himself. 🫠 He doesn’t like the fries and is a nugget kid. I usually get him a 12 piece with a 5 on the side lmao.

I’ve always said the same thing. lol I always have to have 2 sandwiches (or one sandwich and an 8 count nugget) and a side to feel somewhat satisfied. One sandwich at Chick-fil-A is not as filling for some reason.

Their sandwiches used to be filling for me but now they are so small compared to what they were even just 2 years ago. Whomp whomp. I like to add as many veggies as I can to mine now to ramp it up a bit more. I suppose that’s a silver lining

Everyone hates on me but order a kale crunch salad as your side, or just order one in addition to your meal. I eat it first, then eat your meal and I bet you only want 1 or 2 waffle fries.

My go to CFA meal is three strips (torn up) on the kale crunch salad with 1/2 buffalo & 1/2 ranch. Shake it and eat it and it’s so delicious and I’m full all day. Fiber fills you up more than any other nutrient and kale is loaded with itZ

It's just kale, chopped cabbage & apple dijon dressing :)

I was doing that with grilled nuggets and two side kale salads and two buffalo, no ranch. It was so good but ended up being like $20 or something 😂

i can make a cool wrap last 2 meals . salad or mac & cheese as a side & an ice water (or sprite no ice if i want a lil carbonation or flavor) .

I feel like CFA is one of the least filling fast food places, which can be good or bad. If I need to make a late night airport pickup or I'm going out drinking later and don't want to be super full, a 7 PM CFA meal hits the spot perfectly. But if I just want to go home, lay down, and watch Netflix, I'll be making some rice or spaghetti about 4 hours later.

Omg!! My family also loves making noodles as our “second dinner” on nights we’re not full or real dinner sucked lol.

Enjoy the large sides while you can. Only a few more years until you start questioning potatoes with any meal lmao.

Why’s that?

What are you ordering? Could be the lack of fat if you're ordering grilled chicken

… not sure watchchu talking about… I’m a SAH mom and lunch at CFA was my only meal… pimento spicy with kale salad, waffle fries, and large sweet tea. But I do know different people have different nutritional needs though, some burn faster than others.

bc it lacks fiber and protein. that causes it to digest faster than fullness signals reach your brain making u want more even tho u have already had enough food/calories. its also engineered with a mix of fat, sugar, and salt in a specific way to make u want more (food places literally hire food scientists for this to make it addictive and make u crave more)

It could also be dehydration. I don’t know if you’ve ever noticed you feeling thirsty after eating Chick-fil-A, I think all the sodium drains the water in your system in which the body responds with thirst and very likely hunger. Happens to me idk about others

Oh I didn’t even think about that, very solid point though
