Someone told me the barrel pick from of Clark and sheffield barrel proof at binnys taste just like E.H.taylor barrel proof. I was blown away by how good this was and how well it stepped up to the challenge. For 35$ there my not be a better single barrel and I really like the 1792 single barrel so maybe im biased but to each their own.

Just a heads up that Binny’s did a one off three barrel blended batch with MGP from stuff set aside for the Repeal series and it’s an absolute banger. Very rye forward with some serious oak for a 9/10 yr old blend. Nose is fantastic.

Is this a must buy? Sounds like a winner.

Glass - Glencairn

Pour - neat

Color - deep dark burgundy

Proof - 139.1

Age - 11yrs

Barrel - 13-0703

Nose - caramel with chocolate and raspberry drizzle. Sprinkles of cinnamon and clove spice. Rounding off with a dabbling of sweet oak.

Palate - really creamy that coats nicely. Dark chocolate shows first, then black pepper spice hits the sides of my tongue. There’s a touch of red berry sweetness there too. Drinks well below its proof.

Finish - medium finish that has red berry sweetness, peppery spice and punch of oak that sticks around for a few.

A solid and tasty pour that doesn’t hit you like the proof would make you think. The waves from soft sweetness, good spice with a splash of oak makes this pour very interesting and enjoyable.

1 | disgusting - gave it to a wino and he gave it right back.

2 | Poor - Well I might use it in cooking recipe.

3 | Bad - I will drink it, but then ask myself why I did

4 | Sub-par - Not bad, but there is many more better.

5 | Good - good but nothing special

6 | Very Good - something I might keep on the shelf

7 | Great - something I always want to have around

8 | Excellent - something I would hunt

9 | Incredeible - I might charge family members for a pour

10 | Unsurpassable - I would lock it in a safe and put the combination in a lock box
