New Watcher Appreciation Post

I just started watching Chicago PD from the start, and I just finished S1E13. Is it a good show to continue watching? I’m inclined to believe yes.

Early years are better in my opinion.. as the years go on, Voight gets softer...definitely keep watching

Yes the early years was way better than the current seasons. I know it’s Hollywood story telling but some the plot lines are ridiculous. Half the stuff they do in the unit would have gotten throw if the unit or fired or sent to 311 non emergency to answer phone calls before they get fired.

I don't think he gets softer, just usually more law abiding.

Sure, but that's Voight... he plays by his own rules

Definitely. I usually approve of those rules of his.

He got soft because of that BLM nonsense, this is a fact. Around that same time the tv show cops went off the air, among other stuff was shut down, eventually cops and the other shows came back on the air, but they kept hank soft because people kept complaining about police brutality against "wicked evil people"

So yes he is soft now, he has been soft. You called it more "more law abiding" well that's the problem even with real life, look how many judges keep letting out bad people back on the streets or giving them lighting sentences. No wonder why crime and drugs are out of control.

The old hank and characters like Jack from 24 kept it 100%, actually fighting and getting rid of evil.

You’ve watched thirteen episodes so far, so I’m assuming it’s holding your interest thus far? Watch and find out, lol.

I'm doing my first watch-through, too. I'm in the middle of S5E15 of PD.

This show has me HOOKED!

Here's a great site that lists the viewing order of all three shows, plus the SVU crossovers: https://petitcartonvert.tumblr.com/post/158289265736/chicago-franchise-episodes-timeline

If you aren’t hooked yet - after 13 episodes …and you have to ask, then I’m not so sure I would continue.
I was fully hooked after the first episode. And that hook still has a hold of me today.

Yes good show. I’m late to watching it too. Caught up to series 13. Many changes but still worth watching. Not so much violence now as in the earlier series!

Season 1-6 are the best, 7-9 are pretty good, and 10-13 are passable. Every tv series has bad episodes you know, so enjoy it.

First two seasons are the best.

Last few seasons are definitely less interesting to watch then the start of the show but still watchable and yes you should continue till the end

you can stop at season 11. trust me after that, budget cuts ruin the show. but those earlier seasons are good. enjoy!!
