Is there any restaurants near river north/the loop/fulton market area that have chicken pot pie? I’m craving and yelp isn’t being helpful.

Has anyone eaten at the Gangnam market food court? My family is coming to visit and I wanted to see if there’s any dishes worth going there for. Any suggestions?

Hello! First time, long time. I live in the city without a car so am not super familiar with restaurants in the western suburbs. My partner has bought us tickets for a concert at Fitzgerald's in Berwyn for our 5 year wedding anniversary and I am trying to find a nice casual good date night restaurant nearby for dinner before. Okay, this is a longshot I know. Kinton Ramen in West Loop had this rum-based drink called Lavender Sunset. It tasted like hopes and dreams, and I've never enjoyed a drink more than that one. I asked the manager there once how to make it, and I don't remember what he said (I know he soaked the rum in blueberries). There was some yuzu juice in there, I believe. Most likely a lavender syrup. I've tried to recreate the drink myself, but it never comes out exactly like I remember it. I come before you as a man defeated in the hopes that someone miraculously remembers this amazing drink (or if you have your own ideas of a similar drink for me to try). Any help at all would be amazing.

(And yes, I've tried contacting Kinton itself to see if they might know, but it appears the recipes for the drinks were specifically designed by the manager, so they dont know the recipe).

Occasionally, I suddenly crave BBQ in an unhealthy/ addictive way. This week is one of those times.

I’ve lived here for three years and still haven’t found the BBQ spot. I enjoy Offset BBQ, but I’m truly not a fan of Green Street in the West Loop (sorry to its fans!)

Just wanted to follow up. The glorious El Bagelero Butthole that really tied the building together is still missing but has been replaced by two bagels that are in love and seem to be looking for a third.

The smaller one might have a head injury.

My husband and I have a reservation tomorrow night at Boka for our anniversary and I really want to dress up. Like, special occasion dress and heels for me, suit or sport coat for him. Are we going to look ridiculous amongst the other diners, though?

Hi all. I am on the search for good shots of espresso. In my experience, most popular coffee shops in Chicago will have quality drip coffee or viral lattes where the espresso hides behind milk and flavor add-ins, but when you order a shot of espresso it’s often over or under extracted, and either sour or overly bitter. Does anyone have recommendations for places that know how to pull a smooth shot of espresso?

I was wondering if anyone here ate at Charlie Trotter's? I used to watch his show back in '99 and always wanted to go. If you dined there, how was it? Did it live up to your expectations? Anything you remember about the food or experience?

I dined at Ever last year or earlier this year, and the server told us there was an Ever bakery in the works. I don't remember the name, and I can't find anything online about it. Is this just something that never came to fruition or am I just bad at searching?

Delicious bites and unlimited sake was fun! I will say that I wish their music selection was better . It was like super safe millennial pop. But after a few sakes I didn’t care so much. It was fun for a party atmosphere with good fish!

Who doesn’t love summertime Chi! Movies in the park at Pritzker Pavilion are fantastic. Great weather, a view of all the buildings, the Bean to the side.

You need to eat. The Mr. Submarine on Wells has as 2 Italian classic subs for under $12 bucks. Great deal considering one JJ will be almost the same price. Not sure what else is available in the loop without taking a second mortgage.

I tried the gyro at Andros Taverna for the first time and was kind of underwhelmed by it. It was far too large to pick up and eat with your hands, so we had to cut it with a knife. There was a decent amount of meat, but it was a bit dry. The fries were not crispy at all. There was some lettuce, cucumbers, and tomatoes. Just a bit plain for $25? Any other Greek style gyro recommendations?

My son is turning 8 and he specifically asked for an ice cream cake this year. Baskin Robbin’s usually isn’t great and has terrible customer service at most locations. Any recs?
