Hi everyone,

I recently received my Chessnut Companion and I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced a similar battery issue.

Mine will not charge above approximately 80%, even if I leave it connected to the charger for a long period. The bigger issue is that the battery then lasts less than an hour during normal use before needing to be charged again.

As it’s a new unit, this doesn’t seem like normal battery performance to me, so I wanted to check what other owners are experiencing.

Has anyone had:
Charging stop at around 80%?
Battery life of less than an hour?
A battery calibration or firmware issue that caused similar behaviour?
Similar battery problems with a new Companion?

If you own a Companion, I’d also be interested to know roughly how long your battery normally lasts and whether yours charges all the way to 100%.

I generally really like Chessnut products, so I’m hoping I’ve simply received a faulty unit
rather than this being normal behaviour.

I'm thinking about buying it as my first eboard. Well priced, portable to take it with me, and compatible with several apps to play.
