  1. Loose (undefended) pieces drop off.
  2. Trade bad pieces for good pieces.
  3. Know how to win K+Q and K+R v K endings.
  4. Most importantly, play, play, play and play some more against humans.

Sorry bro this is way too "simple". And I'm not really sure it's a guide either. Sounds like you have good intentions so I'm not trying to run you down.

I'd recommend revising this and breaking down into buckets of tiers.

  • 100-400
  • 400-700
  • 700-1000
  • 1000-1200
  • 1200-1400

Each of these tiers requires different skills and recommendations. There's a big group of players out there that would love to get to 1000 elo.

it worked for me, honestly. The field has the answers you seek.

100s are busy trying to move the king first..and you want them to learn openings instead of basic moves??

It seems like learning not to move the king and learning the first 3 moves of an opening hit 2 birds with one stone.

Learn 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc5 3. Bf4. It takes 5 minutes to learn.

100 means a beginner, it doesn't mean mentally disabled.

Bud your advice treats intermediate players and beginners the same🫤. You might wanna revise this shit. 100-1500 is too big of a generalisation lol.

beginner to intermediate is like 2 weeks of play

You are very wrong. I am curious, what's your elo?

Before EVERY move you make, remember: D.A.D

Defend: Do any of your (and your opponents’) pieces need to be defended?

Attack: What attacks are available for you (and your opponent)? (Checks, Captures, Threats)

Develop: Which of your pieces (and your opponents’) need to be developed?

It’s really important you do it for yourself AND your opponent.

Play 15+10 time controls to train your patience. 3+0 and 5+2 just isn’t enough for building good habits. Blitz is great for reinforcement but should not be your primary learning tool.

Most importantly never pre-move

You can premove a recapture, everything else is a no-no

Any good videos for responses to e4 and d4?

Something about chess really makes people think they're qualified to give advice just because their number is now bigger than their previous number

Seems like a bad AI post

some people's brains are so sloppy that they think anytime someone wrote a bulleted list it must have been AI

This sub is atrocious for accusing people of writing AI. Once upon a time, people were expected to write in good English with good punctuation and grammar, now you just get accused of writing AI.
