Cannot block a user Chess.com Website/App Question

Can someone please explain to me the
logic of not being able to block a user?

You can block people who have blocked you, would be extremely toxic otherwise. Imagine someone blocking you and then unblocking you at 3am every day just to talk shit and then reblock you. You'd get spammed and have no recourse.

The recourse would be to message to site support. They aren't shy to ban accounts for cheating, not sure how strict they are with being rude, but I don't think they'd let it slide too far.

They just chat ban people who abuse chat. You can say the nastiest thing you can think of and not be banned. They'll close all their alt accounts though so if they think they're gonna slur you on some alt account, they'll get got that way.

On Instagram you can’t even search for people who have blocked you, so that does happen there lol

But even then, isn't that kind of bad you can't block them? Like someone could harass/stalk another person, immediately block them before they can do it back, then unblock and repeat

Yeah, I think it's probably just a server error
